Lilly Shopping Frenzy

Hello Friends! Did I tell you all I was having oral surgery on Tuesday? If not, I'm telling you now in hopes that it will excuse some of my behavior today....LOL. I came through the surgery fine, and basically lost my entire Tuesday on Valium! Earlier today I felt pretty bad still, but tonight I'm starting to feel human again. Just in time for the New Year! YEAH!

Today I went on a shopping frenzy from the comfort of my bed and my pink laptop! I got the following items on sale (30% off) at Persnickety Palm in Leesburg, VA.

Murfee Scarf in Shorely Blue Grand Scale Access:

Joy Knit Tunic in Classic White One of a Kind:

The highly coveted Worth Shift Colorblocked in Classic White Not So Crabby:

I also found those Lilly Christmas ornaments for 50% off at Splash of Pink. I "only" ordered two of them.

Glass Christmas ornament in Grasshopper Green Free Falling (LOVE the seahorse!) and Lillys Pink Checking In:

THIS gem was located on Ebay late tonight. I have wanted one of these dresses for almost a year and have been kicking myself for not buying it! Ebay bargain for $70.

Cali Shift in Beach Club Blue Coronado Crab:

Now I'm trying HARD to resist some wedges and a bracelet on In The Pink's website. I think I'm going to sleep on those!!! :-)

Have you been shopping the sales too? Tell me all about it please, I love to hear of other people "spaving"! While you're here, don't forget to sign up to follow me and enter my Lilly Pulitzer New Years giveaway! Also tell your friends about the blog.....we'll have another (and even bigger!) giveaway when the blog reaches 100 followers!

Another Lilly Pulitzer Sale - Should I Just Give Up?

Hello FF! You'll find that I often start by saying the same things........the sales are KILLING me. I don't "need" anything - Santa was just here - before he arrived I spent way more than I should with my friends at the Lilly Pulitzer corporate store in Southlake, TX. I've been away from the computer all day - just busy. I return home tonight to this email.

Splash of Pink, one of my favorite Lilly Pulitzer via shop, has a huge section of sale merchandise. The sale prices are already VERY good, and now through Dec. 31, you get an EXTRA 25% off using the code "NEWYEAR" at time of checkout. You can see the sale items HERE . So far, I have been able to resist......but I'm not making any promises.

I'm really tempted by the DAYLE printed knit top in the LA LA LA LILLY print:

Just bought this last week and LOVE it - Burke Dress in Birds Eye View:

The after holiday sales are fantastic this year! Now I'm just waiting on someone to tell me they have reduced the prices on the 2009 Lilly Pulitzer ornaments.......that's when I'll for SURE give in. At least if the hubby wants to choke me, I'll go out well dressed. :-)

Tell me what you're buying on sale this year! And don't forget, sign up to follow me and enter the Lilly Pulitzer New Years giveaway!

The Mother of all SEPHORA Sales!

Hi Everyone! Those folks at SEPHORA, boy do they know how to tempt me!!! Here it is the day after Christmas, of course I got everything in the world that I "needed" (and lots of stuff I just "wanted"), and I don't need ONE thing from them. HOWEVER.....they have a huge sale section on their website, click HERE to access the sale. 230 items included, and through 12/31/09, use promotion code "EXTRA" at checkout to receive an additional 20% OFF the sale items only. What a great selection, brands include: Bare Escentuals, Cargo, Benefit, Kevyn Aucoin, Kinerase, Stila and MANY others. If this isn't enough for you, they also have a $10 or less section with goodies from Bliss, NARS, Benefit and others. You can click HERE to see those fabulous deals!

While you're there, be sure to join their "Beauty Insider" program if you don't already belong! This program is one of the best in the industry, in my opinion. You will receive emails with access to special GWP's, samples, etc. Additionally, for every 100 points in your beauty "bank", you receive your choice of one "deluxe" sample. There are usually 3 items to choose from. This is in ADDITION to the automatic 3 free samples you receive with every order, and FREE Shipping when you spend $50 or more. I don't know about you, but I spend at least $50 every time I order from Sephora.

Of course, I don't "need" anything but I do have a full cart right now! HAHA. I have noticed items are selling out of the sale section today, so rush right over there and get what you "need" while you still can! Be sure to let me know what great deals you find!

Christmas Day, Gifts, Blessings & Missing Meme

Hello Fashionistas! Here's hoping you all had a wonderful and very Merry Christmas with your family and friends! We had a very busy few days around here, but I'm finally back home and ready to talk about Christmas! :-)

What was under your tree? My Santas did a GREAT job this year! I received Lilly Pulitzer clothing, shoes and stationery; Philosophy Hope in a Jar giant 8 oz size, Bliss body products, a beautiful fish pewter plate, books, gift cards, cash and many more goodies! It would be impossible to say what my favorite gift was this year, they were all fabulous! I can't wait to start using/wearing everything tomorrow!

NATCH, more important than the gifts, was spending time with family and friends this holiday season. I feel blessed to have so much family, and to live fairly close to most of them, so we can be together this time of year. I have lived away from my family during the holidays and it can be tough. When we moved back to the Gulf Coast a few years ago, I was so much MORE thankful for this time together.

One more thing I would like to mention - this was my first year to celebrate Christmas without Meme. :-( For those of you who don't know, Meme is one of my grandmothers, my Dad's mom. She was such a strong woman, a great example to me and my sister growing up. She NEVER looked (or acted!) her age, everyone always thought Meme was our Mother, not our grandmother. Meme was one of 8 children, and the only girl! Then she got married and had 3 boys, can you imagine??? She made the absolute BEST gumbo on the coast - better than any restaurant (sorry Emeril and all the fancy restaurants up and down our great coast). Every year on Christmas day, we had lunch at noon SHARP at Meme's house. That tradition changed this year.

Meme passed away July 11, 2009 from pancreatic, lung and bone cancer. It was sad to miss Meme this year, but I know she was watching over us, has no pain anymore and is in a better place. RIP Meme, ♥ you!

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

p.s. Keep reading, I have lots to share with you in the coming days!

My First & Fabulous Christmas Gift! MAC in Lilly Land!

Happy Christmas Eve Eve! Hope everyone is getting ready to celebrate with family and friends over the next few days. I'm almost done, except for a few last minute gift cards and some cooking. Thank goodness because time is running out....

I was SO excited to open my first Christmas gift!! I participate in an online group of Lilly lovin' ladies, and every year we have a holiday gift swap. This year I was the lucky recipient of a stash of the new and unreleased MAC in Lilly Land cosmetics! O.M.G. when I opened this I was thrilled!!! I posted this picture so you all could see the collection "in person". Most of you already know, I'm a HUGE Lilly and MAC lover, so this gift was right up my alley! Funny thing, I have been counting down the days until the collection was released and I could order it online. Now I don't even have to! Thanks to my best buddy J - I am all set! ♥♥♥ you J! :-)

This collection will be available at MAC locations in the US beginning on January 7, 2010. Be sure to check it out then! I'll let you know my favorite colors soon!

Have you opened any fabulous gifts yet?

Lilly Pulitzer Corporate Stores Sale

Hello Fashionistas! I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend, it's nice and sunny here on the Gulf coast and a balmy 58 degrees. I have to admit I'm somewhat jealous of my friends in the northeast and their massive snowfall! It just feels like the holidays when it's cold and there's snow on the ground.....

I am VERY EXCITED to tell you all about a FABULOUS sale that is happening at your local Lilly Pulitzer corporate store. A ton of the FALL 2009 collection is marked WAY down. They have some outstanding deals! I got this gorgeous Stephanie dress in Gotcha spotcha for $59, as well as the Sabine Dress in Lillys Pink Little Master of the House for $59, and the Blayney Dress in Cameo White Large Plume Bloom for $99.

Talk about exciting! There is NOTHING like a great sale on Lilly Pulitzer to make your holidays bright!! Now I know many of you have access to a Lilly store locally, but sadly I do NOT. Therefore I have to order the majority of mine over the telephone or online.

All the Lilly stores are known for being wonderful to work with (after all, they're selling Lilly - it's FUN!). However, my absolute FAVORITE is the Lilly Pulitzer Corporate Store in Southlake, TX. The manager, Sh'Lika, is a pleasure to deal with, she really "gets" the Lilly customer and works hard to find things I "need". All the associates are so nice and helpful, but AMY is my girl! Amy and I have been through years worth of Lilly collections together. We probably chat TOO long but she feels like a lifelong friend. Heck I think she knows the last 4 digits of my credit card by memory! :-)

I highly recommend checking with Southlake for all your Lilly "needs". You will NOT be disappointed in their service! Give them a shout today, here is how to reach them:

Lilly Pulitzer
Southlake Town Square
405 Grand Avenue East
Southlake, TX 76092
(817) 310-3947

Be sure to let me know what you find! I can't wait to hear all about it!

Happy Sunday everyone!

LORAC Cosmetics - VIP Discounts

Finally....time to talk about cosmetics for a bit! I LOVE LOVE LOVE buying new makeup. I buy WAY too much makeup, skin care, hair products, etc. but I can't help myself. I mean let's face it - we all look better with a little "help". Natural beauty is great, but natural beauty enhanced with the proper products, now that is fabulous!

If you haven't tried the LORAC Cosmetics line, you really should. The line is generally available in Sephora stores nationwide. You can also purchase it directly from the LORAC website (this is my preferred method).

On their website, be sure to check out the "Collections" and "VIP Discount" tabs. There are some awesome deals to be had, and they change frequently. Sometimes the "VIP" section will be discounted as much as 75%, and the "Collections" (or sets) are usually priced at 50-75% off their retail value. One of my favorites is the Lip Polish. This is lip gloss in a petite bottle that looks like nail polish. My favorite color is the "Bliss", but they're all wonderful.

If you still have stocking stuffers or small gifts to purchase, this is a great place to check. Go HERE to see all the goodies!

I can't wait to hear what you think! Happy Shopping!

Giving Back During the Holidays

Hello FF! We all know because the "media" won't let us forget.....the worldwide economy is in the tank this holiday season. Now I don't know about you, but I'm doing my part to help out. I'm shopping just as much as normal, and spending about the same as always.

One thing that is really suffering because of the economy right now are the charitable organizations. This time of year, they REALLY depend on donations. There are many ways you can get involved that don't cost very much $$ or very much of your time.

Here are some suggestions:

1. Volunteer to serve a meal at your local womens shelter, homeless shelter or soup kitchen. This is a great thing to do as a family and make a new tradition of giving that will be passed on for generations.

2. Adopt an "angel" from one of the trees. The Salvation Army has an excellent program for children.

3. Toys For Tots - United States Marine Corps has collection sites all over most towns. Take a new, unwrapped toy and drop it in.

4. Donate something you're not using, or maybe you just have too many. (I have this problem with hair products, more than I could use before they will go bad!). EX: Shampoos, conditioners, soaps, etc. Great places to take these items: orphanages, nursing homes, womens shelters. I'm sure you can think of many places that need these items in your community.

5. Adopt an elderly person and drop off a small gift. Walgreens has trees up in their stores, "wants and needs" along with the elder's name is on the tag. You can actually purchase the items in the store and leave them there under the tree, you won't have to make a return trip.

6. Donate those used COATS that are still in good condition. Homeless shelters are a great place to take these, as more people are homeless today than ever. Plus, it's getting cold EVERYWHERE now.

7. Volunteer to help DELIVER the donated items at a place like the nursing home. It always brightens someone's day to get an unexpected visit this time of year!

Personally, I have done two things this holiday season. First, adopted one of the elders today at Walgreens. My nephew and I shopped for everything on the list - it was so uncomplicated. All the gentleman asked for was candy, peanuts and after shave. His name was Robert. We loaded him up - 3 bottles of after shave, 2 huge canisters of peanuts, Werthers bagged candy, lots of chocolates and some mints. It felt great to leave that bag under the tree. In my local Walgreens, the deadline has been extended to Dec. 21 because there are so many angels left on the tree waiting to be adopted. Second, I have a HUGE box of toiletries to drop off at the womens shelter. It is full! I have also thrown in some makeup to help give these women confidence in their inner beauty. It feels great to be able to share with others, and truly is the spirit of the season.

Now don't go getting excited, yes I still love to shop and that's what I'll mostly be blogging about around these parts. However, so many people need help this year and if every one of us just did one small thing to help another person, think of the difference it would make. Remember - think globally, act locally.

What are you doing or have you already done this season? Let me hear from you, I'm sure you'll have great ideas that I never thought about!

Do You Rue? Rue la la, That Is......

Hello Fashionistas!

Christmas Shopping....

Is it just me, or do you also find it difficult to stay focused this time of year??? When shopping for everyone on your Christmas list, are you also tempted "one for them, one for me"??? Yep, that's my problem too. Especially when the deals are soooo good!

I do the majority of my shopping online. It's so convenient, and I ♥ getting a box from UPS. I can hear the UPS truck a half mile away, and where I live at the beach, there aren't many people around this time of year. When I hear that familiar sound, I KNOW it's my package!

When I lived up north (that would be NORTH Carolina, not the "real" north!) I had access to GREAT shopping. Nordstrom, Saks, Restoration Hardware, Sephora, Ulta, a huge Belk with a Lilly Pulitzer department that would blow your mind.......I must admit I MISS that shopping. Now I'm addicted to certain brands, and of course I cannot buy them locally. Thank goodness for the internet!

Are you shopping online this year, or braving the crowds in the stores? Let me hear from you!

Welcome!

Hello Fellow Fashionistas! Welcome to my new blog! I now have 2 - one I decided to dedicate to my attempt to lose weight before my 40th birthday (sshhhh don't tell anyone my age!). I found that soooo many times I wanted to chat about my favorite designers and shopping on that blog, but it didn't seem to "fit" the existing theme! So, I decided to set up this one to dedicate to FUN stuff.

My favorite designers are Lilly Pulitzer, Tory Burch, Kate Spade, C & C California, and many others. I also LOVE to shop for cosmetics and skin care......I never met a Sephora or Ulta I didn't like! :-)

Who are your favorites? Follow along and let's find some great deals together! :-)
