Missoni for Target - Giveaway Winner

Image
Happy Hump Day! Today we have no "wish list wednesday" post. I'm very sad to report that a friend of ours passed away on Sunday and I have to attend a wake tonight. Even more sad to say that our friend was years younger than my parents, and pancreatic cancer took her life very quickly. :-(  However - a bit of good news - we have a WINNER in the Missoni for Target giveaway! Congrats to reader "Britton" with the following comment: Britton  said... I am a follower on twitter!!! September 20, 2011 4:46 AM  Please email me directly (lori.driver@hotmail.com) with shipping information and I'll get your goodies out asap! Congrats to Britton - and thanks to everyone who entered. If you didn't win this time, no worries - you know me, another giveaway is always just around the corner!  Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Kate Spade Sample Sale: The Turtle is MINE!

Image
This morning I was thrilled to see the above email from Ebates - Kate Spade Sample Sale time!  Of course I had no intentions of ordering another handbag - and I am proud to say I didn't. (Seriously, another bag isn't high on my "must have" list right now). But of course I had to take a quick look through the offerings... And there is was! I couldn't believe it!  Holy moly - the Kate Spade Sea Glass ring (I'm calling it the turtle!). Some of your will remember that when I was in Charlotte last month, I found this exact ring at Nordstrom Rack. (link to that post HERE ).  However, I was so disappointed because it wasn't my size and therefore, I walked away empty handed.  The Sample Sale has this ring available in sizes 6, 7 and 8 - and the best part - it's only $39 (retail $128). You better believe, I couldn't add this little gem to my cart fast enough and the Sea Glass is now on it's way to my house! Score! :-)  There are so many ot

Fall Fragrance Favorites

Image
Happy Monday!  Even though our temperatures for this week are in the 85-89 degree range, it's "technically" Fall. I am gradually embracing the change of season, and have moved the following favorite fragrances to the front of my vanity for rotation.  Meet my three longtime favorites for fall, winter and overall cooler weather.  "Coco Mademoiselle" by Chanel - you will get stopped everywhere and people will say "you smell wonderful". It's long been a staple in my fragrance wardrobe. Sephora says:  Sexy, fresh Oriental fragrance recalls the irrepressible spirit of the young Coco Chanel. An elegant, luxurious spray closest in strength and character to the parfum form. The signature Classic Bottle is perfect for the dressing table or for traveling. Spray lightly morning and evening on pulse points at the throat and wrist. "Addict" by Christian Dior - you need to be confident to wear this one! A little on the heavy side, it

Salt Water Saturday: Game Day In Tuscaloosa

Image
Happy Fall, Y'all!  Today we make the four hour drive to Tuscaloosa, AL for the first SEC home game of the season. In a nationwide broadcast on CBS Sports, the Alabama vs. Arkansas game promises to be an exciting afternoon of football.  Tradition runs deep in Tuscaloosa - winning and partying Game day hosts Adam and Andrew, not only do these boys know how to have a great time - they also taught us how to make jalapeno vodka! Mixed with orange juice, this makes a nice change over a traditional screwdriver.  These pictures were from Labor Day weekend and our first home game of 2011 - Alabama vs. Kent State. My BFF Priscilla went with me and we had a blast! Here's hoping today's game (and the outcome) is just as fun!  Pictures as everyone made their way into stadium We were too busy posing for this picture and missed an opportunity to have one with Alabama's Athletic Director, Mal Moore. Oops.  Are you attending a college football game this weekend? If so, hav

Fearless Fitness Friday: The Great Weight Loss Wager

Image
TGIF, Shopaholics! I hope you have an exciting (or maybe relaxing!) weekend planned. Today I'm having lunch with friends down from ATL; off to Tuscaloosa tomorrow for the Alabama - Arkansas showdown and then plan to relax on Sunday!  There is nothing that motivates me more than a good bet. My Father also loves a wager, especially one he thinks he can win. (I suppose I got that honest!)  My poor Father - he doesn't know what hit him...he actually bet me an undisclosed sum of $$$ that he could lose more weight than me before Thanksgiving. I told him "get prepared to pay up"! :-) So here is the deal - we weighed in last week. That was painful as no one else knows my weight. Not my DH, not my BFF(s), not my sister. (Well maybe my doctor but only because I have no choice at the doctors office.)  We weigh in again on Thanksgiving Eve. (smart, huh?). The person who loses the highest percentage (%) of body weight, wins. Period. Not the total pounds, as he weigh

Fall Television Time

Image
Happy Monday! This week I'm excited about a few new shows premiering in the Fall television lineup. (I know - being excited about a new tv show is sad, but I'm home alone pretty often these days!)  There are several that I plan to give a chance, and see if I enjoy them enough to continue watching.  On my list: 2 Broke Girls (natural fit for a shopaholic, ha), Two and a Half Men (how will they deal with Charlie Sheen's departure?), The Biggest Loser (because I need the motivation), Revenge (previews of this look fabulous), and Charlie's Angels (after all, I watched the original series so I owe it to myself to check out the updated version) and Up All Night looks really cute - primarily because I love Christina Applegate!  I'm on the fence about: Pan Am, Dancing With the Stars, The Playboy Club and Whitney. I hate to get into a bunch of television shows and have it suck up so much of my time!  How about you? What are you planning to watch this week? MON / S
