Sales You Should Know About

TGIF! Thanks for all your kind comments and well wishes, as well as business casual fashion advice, this week. I'm happy to report that even with a yucky sickness (ugh!), I made it through my first week of work! I'm getting up at 5:15AM and have been getting home between 5:15-5:30PM, which makes for a very long day (I have to commute to Pensacola). The only advantage? I've been watching the sun rise - and subsequently set - over the Gulf of Mexico on my drive. There have been some magnificent sunrises and sunsets this week, that surely helps! :-)

Tonight I wanted to share a few wonderful sales with you. These are some of the deals I plan to shop over the weekend.

First up, Francesca Joy Palm Beach is offering another Shopaholic exclusive discount. Enter code "SHOPBAMA" at checkout for 15% off everything (except stationery). Also, if you're ordering just a tote bag, please enter code "Magic12" for 40% off (note this code is for tote orders only). Codes expire at 11:59PM on New Year's Eve! You can see everything available on Francesca Joy Palm Beach website HERE

Next, Sephora is offering an additional 20% off all items in their "sale" section. Link to their sale section HERE, and enter code "EXTRA" during online checkout for the 20% discount. Please note the discount is only on sale items - not regular priced items - and will expire on January 3, 2012. Don't forget to link through your Ebates account to earn 3.5% Cash Back on your purchase. Not a member of Ebates yet? Sign up HERE, right now you can select either a $10 gift card or a $5 Ebates credit just for joining (bonus applicable after you use Ebates for your 1st $25 online purchase).

Last but not least, SCOUT by Bungalow is one of the featured boutiques on zulily. I'm jonesing big time for the rolling duffel bag in pink and green stripe (it would match my new lunch bag)! The duffel is priced at only $49.99 on zulily (is on clearance for $60.00 on the Scout website - so that's a great deal!). If you're not a member of zulily yet, you can join free with my link HERE. Also, be sure to try the coupon code "coupguru814" at checkout, it appears to give you about 10% off on orders over $20.00. However, no guarantees on that code but it's worth a shot!

What are you doing this weekend? Personally, I'm just looking forward to not getting out of bed at the unreasonable time of 5:15!

Great Minds Think Alike

Are you getting ready for the New Year's holiday weekend? I am planning a post all about my Christmas goodies, but I couldn't wait to share this story with you - I have a feeling you'll get a kick out of it!

It's well documented that I love my Lilly - and so does my sister Amy! It was rather hilarious when we opened gifts on Christmas Day - somehow, we managed to buy each other the same.exact.Lilly Pulitzer top! The silk "Elsa" style top is a staple in both mine and Amy's wardrobes - and now we both have a new one, they just happen to be exactly alike.

We're just going to have to coordinate wardrobes when we go somewhere together for a little while - so we don't show up looking like twins! Hilarious, huh?

p.s. Don't forget - today is the last day to enter the Diana E. Kelly giveaway HERE. Two lucky Shopaholic In Alabama readers will receive a Cork Clutch bag of their choice! These retail for $75 and are absolutely gorgeous!

Shopaholic Goes To...Work!

Yes, you are reading that correctly. Today I started a new (and full time!) job. I wasn't really expecting this to happen - and technically, I wasn't even "looking" for a job. But I was presented with the opportunity to go back into the mortgage business - with the largest credit union in the world. The opportunity - and benefits - are so amazing, I felt it would be foolish to turn it down.

Now, I'm sure you already know my next thought. "What am I going to wear?" The environment is "business casual" but it's a little more conservative than I thought. In all seriousness - I don't own many black, grey and navy "basic" items of clothing. I also don't own many "dress" shoes. This is going to be interesting for a few weeks!

What designer do you turn to for work basics? What does "business casual" mean to you? And more importantly: are you surprised to hear my news?

Two More Trees: Lilly Pulitzer & Football Themes

It's Christmas Eve - which seemed like a perfect time to share my Lilly Pulitzer-inspired and Football tree with you!

These are small 4' trees that were pre-lit with clear lights. Last year, I used a much smaller pink tree for the Lilly ornaments, but my collection has grown so much that I had to get a larger size. This tree is a mixture of ornaments that are either Lilly Pulitzer or "Lilly inspired" (think pink, green, preppy). Hope you enjoy the photos.

The "football tree" is a mixture of ornaments from our favorite college and NFL teams - Alabama and the Dallas Cowboys. It's the same size tree as the Lilly-inspired tree.

Merry Christmas Eve!

p.s. Tracy Negoshian giveaway winners will be drawn later today, and then announced. Please be sure to check back!

Rewards For Reading, Commenting and Facebook: Score!

Several months ago (!), one of my tech-savvy friends emailed me with information about a new rewards program called "PunchTab". I looked over the information and thought "I don't have time to do this - I'll look at it later". Sooo, yesterday was "later"!

You might have noticed the red "Rewards" ribbon on the left hand side of my blog today. Some of my blog friends may already be familiar with this program (my buddy Bethany over at Maryland Pink and Green is also using PunchTab for her readers). I haven't heard much about this program in the blog world, but thought it would be super cool for my readers - especially because we all love to SHOP! And who doesn't love rewards for free stuff?

If you'd like to participate in the program and earn rewards for reading, commenting, Liking my page on Facebook, tweeting my posts, etc - it's so easy to sign up. Just click the red "Rewards" ribbon to register with your Facebook account (right now that's the only way to sign up for rewards). The sign up process is very quick - maybe 30 seconds tops - and from then on, you're signed in every time you visit Shopaholic In Alabama (or other participating blogs)!

What kind of rewards can you earn? Right now, the rewards catalog includes gift cards from Amazon, Groupon and Zynga.com. Based on the rising popularity of this program, I'm guessing other options will be added as they become available.

You all know I love to earn rewards (Ebates is one of my favorites!). It makes me feel better about the time (and $$$) spent shopping or online, whether reading blogs, researching for this blog, or keeping up with family and friends on Facebook.

I'd love to see all my blog friends install this on their sites - it's so easy! I'm sure the readers would appreciate earning the rewards by visiting other blogs!  Fellow Bloggers - check out the PunchTab website HERE

Thanks as always for reading Shopaholic In Alabama. Every day I feel more blessed about the friends I've made (many of which I've met in person) because of this blog, and the opportunities that have come my way. I appreciate each and every one of you. (((HOLIDAY HUGS)))

Diana E. Kelly: Two Holiday Giveaways & Shopaholic Discount

***Just in time to celebrate the holiday season, Shopaholic In Alabama has partnered with favorite brands and designers to bring you a series of festive giveaways! In addition to giveaways, there will be Shopaholic Special discounts to help with your holiday shopping! Please join me today in welcoming Diana E. Kelly!***

True confession time: I've always had issues finding comfortable shoes that are stylish. (You won't catch me in ugly shoes just because they are comfortable. Not happening!) To make it worse, I don't really like wearing closed toe shoes and would love it if I could live in flip flops! However, there are just times when the flips are not appropriate. I've tried so many different brands of shoes - economical (Target), mid-range (Lilly Pulitzer) and high-end (Gucci). Usually by the end of the day (or night), my feet are screaming and I am left crying - wishing for my Havaianas.

I was thrilled to form a friendship with Diana E. Kelly and try her Maria flats! They are soooo comfortable, I can wear these all day and night and my feet are not hurting. All of Diana's shoes have an added cushion for comfort, and you can tell! My Maria's have the red elephant brooch, which were perfect for the Alabama home games this year. I wore them several times, and received so many compliments! While shopping in The Shirt Shop in Tuscaloosa, the owner asked "who is that designer? I love those shoes". What a compliment to the Diana E. Kelly shoes, huh? You can see my shoes on the DEK website HERE
And of course, I have the matching cork clutch and I get so many compliments on this too! Everyone wants their own DEK clutch (available in other styles and colors HERE).
Thinking ahead to the New Year's holiday, I would love to add the Black Elizabeth Heel to my DEK collection. With a signature flower brooch, this shoe sparkles enough for evening wear but also has the sophistication of business-appropriate attire. Absolutely gorgeous, and also available in other colors. You can see them HERE.
For the lady who prefers a low heel (or maybe your podiatrist insists!), the 1 3/4 inch Jacqueline Low Pump is a stylish choice. With a stunningly gorgeous circle brooch - and that added cushion for comfort - rest assured you will love this shoe. I'd love to have it in the Chocolate! You can see all the available Jacqueline styles and colors HERE
Also high on my DEK wish list...another pair of Maria flats, in Champagne with the Fleur de lis Brooch. I think this Champagne color would be amazing in person! See all the Maria colors and brooch choices HERE.
My sweet friend Diana E. Kelly has so generously offered a giveaway - and Shopaholic special discount - just in time for your holiday shopping! Please note that orders placed now are not guaranteed for Christmas delivery - but you'll love receiving that box after the holiday is over and you're preparing a "New Year, New You" footwear and accessories wardrobe!

Shopaholic In Alabama readers will receive a 10% discount on their total purchase. Place your order on the DEK website HERE and enter code "SIADec10" to receive your discount. This promotion is valid until January 3, 2012.

Are you wondering about the giveaway yet? I'm thrilled to tell you - not just one, but TWO lucky Shopaholic readers will receive a Cork Clutch bag of their choice! Any color or style, based upon availability (in stock items only). Here's how to enter the drawing - and don't forget - two winners! Very exciting! You might want one of these if you win...
Or maybe you'd select this one...
Perhaps you're gathering goodies for a resort vacation - (or planning your spring accessory wardrobe) - this clutch would be perfect!

Tracy Negoshian: Two Holiday Giveaways & Shopaholic Discount

***Just in time to celebrate the holiday season, Shopaholic In Alabama has partnered with favorite brands and designers to bring you a series of festive giveaways! In addition to giveaways, there will be Shopaholic Special discounts to help with your holiday shopping! Please join me today in welcoming The Tracy Negoshian!***

You have probably noticed from previous posts that Tracy Negoshian is quickly becoming one of my favorite designers. During recent Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, I ordered so many new dresses and tunics, it was like an early Christmas present when they all arrived.

Tracy's designs are a favorite of preppy girls everywhere. They are easy to wear - the comfy jersey fabric is flowy, but somehow fitted just enough to be feminine. Many of the items I ordered work for all seasons here at the beach. Just last week, I wore the Sheada Tunic Dress is Navy Life Preserver to a casual holiday gathering. Say "hi" to Phillip and Angie - these two keep me looking camera ready! They are responsible for keeping my hair and face looking presentable. :-)
Wondering which dress is next on my "wish list"? I am absolutely in love with the Valerie 3/4 Sleeve Dress in the Aqua and Brown color combination. This dress would be perfect for your relaxed holiday celebration - it would be comfortable, yet dressy enough to look "put together". It's also a great dress for a casual New Year's Eve. The DH and I typically just go to dinner for NYE, if we go anywhere. (link to dress HERE)
I have the Stephany set aside for the BCS national championship game between Alabama and LSU. Whether watching from the Superdome (which will only happen if Santa is extremely generous this year, tickets are going for $1500-3000 each) or home, I'll be wearing Stephany and cheering for the Tide. (link to dress HERE)
If you're looking for a great game day dress to wear while cheering on your team in a bowl game, Tracy has many options for you. How about the Navy and Orange Stephany dress for the Auburn girl on your gift list? (link to dress HERE)
Or the Chrissy in Purple and Yellow for the LSU girl? (link to dress HERE
South Carolina girls, you'll look fabulous at the bowl game in the Karen 3/4 Sleeve shift dress in Red and Black! (link to dress HERE
How about the Deanna Wrap Dress in Orange and Blue for the Florida Gator girls? This one is being modeled by the lovely Diana E. Kelly, shoe and handbag design extraordinaire and BFF of Tracy. (link to dress HERE)

Tracy Negoshian is generously offering a giveaway - and Shopaholic Special discount, just in time for that last minute holiday shopping! Please note that orders placed in the next few days are not guaranteed arrival in time for Santa, but the Tracy Team will certainly do their best. And what is better than a "gift to self" arriving a few days after Santa? Not much, in my opinion!

Shopaholic In Alabama readers will receive FREE standard shipping for all orders placed on the Tracy Negoshian website HERE - just use the promotion code "shopaholic" at checkout. This promotion code is valid until Christmas Eve, 12/24/11 at 11:59PM EST.

Now - for the giveaway! I told y'all Tracy was generous and this proves it! Not just one, but TWO lucky Shopaholic In Alabama readers will win their choice of a Tracy Negoshian dress!
