Sales You Should Know About

Image
TGIF! Thanks for all your kind comments and well wishes, as well as business casual fashion advice, this week. I'm happy to report that even with a yucky sickness (ugh!), I made it through my first week of work! I'm getting up at 5:15AM and have been getting home between 5:15-5:30PM, which makes for a very long day (I have to commute to Pensacola). The only advantage? I've been watching the sun rise - and subsequently set - over the Gulf of Mexico on my drive. There have been some magnificent sunrises and sunsets this week, that surely helps! :-)  Tonight I wanted to share a few wonderful sales with you. These are some of the deals I plan to shop over the weekend.  First up, Francesca Joy Palm Beach is offering another Shopaholic exclusive discount. Enter code "SHOPBAMA" at checkout for 15% off everything (except stationery). Also, if you're ordering just a tote bag, please enter code "Magic12" for 40% off (note this code is for tote orders o...

Great Minds Think Alike

Are you getting ready for the New Year's holiday weekend? I am planning a post all about my Christmas goodies, but I couldn't wait to share this story with you - I have a feeling you'll get a kick out of it!  It's well documented that I love my Lilly - and so does my sister Amy! It was rather hilarious when we opened gifts on Christmas Day - somehow, we managed to buy each other the same.exact.Lilly Pulitzer top! The silk "Elsa" style top is a staple in both mine and Amy's wardrobes - and now we both have a new one, they just happen to be exactly alike.  We're just going to have to coordinate wardrobes when we go somewhere together for a little while - so we don't show up looking like twins! Hilarious, huh? p.s. Don't forget - today is the last day to enter the Diana E. Kelly giveaway HERE . Two lucky Shopaholic In Alabama readers will receive a Cork Clutch bag of their choice! These retail for $75 and are absolutely gorgeous!

Shopaholic Goes To...Work!

Image
Yes, you are reading that correctly. Today I started a new (and full time!) job. I wasn't really expecting this to happen - and technically, I wasn't even "looking" for a job. But I was presented with the opportunity to go back into the mortgage business - with the largest credit union in the world. The opportunity - and benefits - are so amazing, I felt it would be foolish to turn it down.  Now, I'm sure you already know my next thought. "What am I going to wear?" The environment is "business casual" but it's a little more conservative than I thought. In all seriousness - I don't own many black, grey and navy "basic" items of clothing. I also don't own many "dress" shoes. This is going to be interesting for a few weeks!  What designer do you turn to for work basics? What does "business casual" mean to you? And more importantly: are you surprised to hear my news?

Two More Trees: Lilly Pulitzer & Football Themes

Image
It's Christmas Eve - which seemed like a perfect time to share my Lilly Pulitzer-inspired and Football tree with you!   These are small 4' trees that were pre-lit with clear lights. Last year, I used a much smaller pink tree for the Lilly ornaments, but my collection has grown so much that I had to get a larger size. This tree is a mixture of ornaments that are either Lilly Pulitzer or "Lilly inspired" (think pink, green, preppy). Hope you enjoy the photos.  The "football tree" is a mixture of ornaments from our favorite college and NFL teams - Alabama and the Dallas Cowboys. It's the same size tree as the Lilly-inspired tree. Merry Christmas Eve!  p.s.  Tracy Negoshian giveaway winners will be drawn later today, and then announced. Please be sure to check back!

Rewards For Reading, Commenting and Facebook: Score!

Image
Several months ago (!), one of my tech-savvy friends emailed me with information about a new rewards program called "PunchTab". I looked over the information and thought "I don't have time to do this - I'll look at it later". Sooo, yesterday was "later"!  You might have noticed the red "Rewards" ribbon on the left hand side of my blog today. Some of my blog friends may already be familiar with this program (my buddy Bethany over at Maryland Pink and Green is also using PunchTab for her readers). I haven't heard much about this program in the blog world, but thought it would be super cool for my readers - especially because we all love to SHOP! And who doesn't love rewards for free stuff? If you'd like to participate in the program and earn rewards for reading, commenting, Liking my page on Facebook , tweeting my posts, etc - it's so easy to sign up. Just click the red "Rewards" ribbon to register with your...

Diana E. Kelly: Two Holiday Giveaways & Shopaholic Discount

Image
***Just in time to celebrate the holiday season, Shopaholic In Alabama has partnered with favorite brands and designers to bring you a series of festive giveaways! In addition to giveaways, there will be Shopaholic Special discounts to help with your holiday shopping! Please join me today in welcoming Diana E. Kelly!***   True confession time: I've always had issues finding comfortable shoes that are stylish. (You won't catch me in ugly shoes just because they are comfortable. Not happening!) To make it worse, I don't really like wearing closed toe shoes and would love it if I could live in flip flops! However, there are just times when the flips are not appropriate. I've tried so many different brands of shoes - economical (Target), mid-range (Lilly Pulitzer) and high-end (Gucci). Usually by the end of the day (or night), my feet are screaming and I am left crying - wishing for my Havaianas.  I was thrilled to form a friendship with Diana E. Kelly and try her...

Tracy Negoshian: Two Holiday Giveaways & Shopaholic Discount

***Just in time to celebrate the holiday season, Shopaholic In Alabama has partnered with favorite brands and designers to bring you a series of festive giveaways! In addition to giveaways, there will be Shopaholic Special discounts to help with your holiday shopping! Please join me today in welcoming The Tracy Negoshian!*** You have probably noticed from previous posts that Tracy Negoshian is quickly becoming one of my favorite designers. During recent Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, I ordered so many new dresses and tunics, it was like an early Christmas present when they all arrived.  Tracy's designs are a favorite of preppy girls everywhere. They are easy to wear - the comfy jersey fabric is flowy, but somehow fitted just enough to be feminine. Many of the items I ordered work for all seasons here at the beach. Just last week, I wore the Sheada Tunic Dress is Navy Life Preserver to a casual holiday gathering. Say "hi" to Phillip and Angie - these two ke...
