My Favorite Eye Cream: Rodan + Fields Redefine

Image
You know by now - I am totally addicted to skin care, hair care and makeup products. There is nothing I love more than trying something new. Once I find something that works, I stick with it.  For years, I had been using ____ brand of eye cream. It wasn't doing a bad job, but it seemed like my eyes weren't looking so great anymore. Father Time was beginning to catch up to me - along with a consistent lack of sleep and immense stress. I tried many concealers to make me look more "awake" and "bright eyed" but they didn't deal with the source of my problem - dark, puffy eyes with the beginning of crows feet. Time to bring out the big guns - something new and more powerful!  Enter Rodan + Fields Redefine Multi-Function Eye Cream . From the first day I used this product, I knew it was something special. The formula is highly concentrated, and it only takes a little bit. (A full jar lasts me almost sixty days, and I use it morning and night). The Redefi...

Shopaholic Favorite Tunic: The Virginia By Jules Reid

Image
You guys know me - I love, love, love my tunics! However - most of my favorite designer tunics are only appropriate for spring and summer wear. It's as if once the weather turns cool, tunics are out of sight and out of mind.  Enter Jules Reid to the rescue! Jules Reid is one of my favorite designers, you might remember one of my previous posts about her beachy-chic collection (see it HERE ). Jules' designs are absolutely gorgeous and oh so chic. I am in love with her Virginia Tunic , and am wearing one in the photo above.  The Virginia tunic is a great option for work. In the picture, I paired my newest Virginia with a black pencil skirt and black wedges - and it was a perfect "wear to work" look. You have to remember that I work in the mortgage business, so I'm constantly trying to find ways to work my favorite designers into my Monday-Friday wardrobe without looking like a tourist on vacation at the office. :-)  Another thing I like about the Jules...

My 42 Year Old Face: Rodan + Fields Anti-Age Regime

Image
Did you know? I am proud to be an Independent Consultant for Rodan + Fields . I have been using their products for over 90 days, and I can honestly tell you – my skin hasn't looked this good in at least 10 years, maybe even longer. I started out using the Anti-Age Regime (available HERE ), and quickly noticed results. Within a few days, my skin felt so much better and had an incredible texture. I might be 42 years old, but I have no desire to look 42 years old! The Anti-Age Regime has really helped my skin in a short period of time. My visible pores have been significantly reduced, which is a huge deal to me as I did not like the way my pores had been looking. It’s no wonder they call the Anti-Aging Pore Minimizing Toner “Spanx for Pores”! Another one of my favorite products is the Anti-Age Multi Function Eye Cream (available HERE ). Now I will admit – I have always been a fanatic about using a good eye cream. I started using eye cream when I was a teenager and ...

Birchbox: I'm In!

Image
I know, I know...you must be thinking "you're late to this party, Lori". Believe me, I already know! ha! But now I'm on the bandwagon and I like it!  Many of my blogger friends have been talking about Birchbox for months, and I recently decided to get on the waiting list and join the party. When my August box arrived, I was thrilled with the contents and wanted to show you everything I received.  For August, Birchbox contents had a "beauty school" theme in honor of the back to school season. My box included DDF Brightening Cleanser (which I plan to give away, as I only use a specific brand of cleanser). It also included LiQWd Professional Volumizing Catalyst, which I used on my hair yesterday and loved. This is something I might purchase in a full size version.  The Dr. Jart+ Waterfuse Beauty Balm is a multi purpose product that includes a SPF25. I might try it on one of those days that I don't plan to leave the house and am not wearing any ma...

The Virginia Tunic by Jules Reid: A New Favorite

Image
Do you remember my post a while back about Jules Reid? (If not, you can view HERE ). Suffice to say, I have a tunic obsession that goes back many many years and always have my eyes peeled for fabulous finds. The Virginia Tunic from Jules Reid (available on her website HERE ) is now officially one of my favorites.  You know how we all love receiving a blue box on our doorstep? Well, how about a teal box? All of your purchases from Jules Reid arrive in this fabulous teal box, tied with a bow, ready for gift giving. In my case, the tunic was a "gift to self" - aren't those some of the best ones? We all need a treat every now and then. :-)  I paired my tunic with white shorts and gold wedges (please forgive my hair, I needed highlights so bad when this was taken). With the imminent arrival of Fall, I plan to wear my Virginia with jeans and wedges.  Don't forget - the Virginia Tunic is available on the Jules Reid website HERE . The Resort Holiday collection is up a...

National Flip Flop Day

Image
TGIF! Wow, what an incredibly long week it has been here. I'm looking forward to a weekend spent in the sun - doing what we planned last weekend but couldn't do because of all the rain!  Are you wearing your flip flops today, in honor of National Flip Flop Day? Originally created by Tropical Smoothie Cafe, on National Flip Flop Day you can wear your flips to a Tropical Smoothie location (certain hours only) and receive a free Jetty Punch smoothie. Sadly, I won't be near a TS Cafe today to get a free smoothie, but I still love my flips and try to integrate some of the dressier ones into my Friday work wardrobe!  Some of my favorite flip flops include: Bahamas Jelly by Jack Rogers - I only have one pair of these but am coveting more! Maybe soon... Havaianas Slim - I would conservatively estimate I have at least 15 pairs of Havaianas, in different colors and styles.  You can't have too many of these!  I also love to wear crystallized and blinged flip...

The Best Eyeliner On The Planet

Image
...In my humble opinion, of course!  For years, I've refused to use eyeliner pencils and have instead opted for liquid eyeliner. My favorite liquid liner has long been Artliner by Lancome. The biggest reason I like the liquid liner? Because I didn't feel like it was pulling my eyes as it was being applied. I hate tugging on my eyes and fooling with a pencil. However, I have now changed my mind about eye pencils. And it's all because I tried the one above - this one is called Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner by NARS. This eye pencil has a built-in sharpener and a retractable applicator, so you don't even have to carry a sharpener around with you.  NARS always cracks me up with the names of their colors (like the blush "Orgasm" or my favorite lipstick "Sexual Healing", the folks who name the colors have a sense of humor!). My new favorite eye pencil is named after some of the most famous and iconic streets in the world - think Abbey Road, B...

What's Your Tervis Personality?

Image
Give me a Tervis Tumbler, and I'm one happy girl. When I find a Tervis that perfectly matches my personality, I'm even happier.  I have quite the collection of Tervis Tumblers and use one every.single.day of my life. From that one cup of coffee first thing in the morning to my Diet Coke, water and Crystal Light throughout the day - they're all in a Tervis. Since I've recently discovered the matching lids available for purchase, now I'm confident using the Tervis when traveling in the car. With a lid and a straw, I'm not worried about hitting a bump and spilling (or wearing!) my drink. Some of the favorite Tervis Tumblers in our collection include the following: Lilly Pulitzer Tervis, Blue Seahorses. These were produced three or four years ago and are no longer available. They are treasured pieces of my collection - so treasured in fact, they are housed on the wet bar and not in the kitchen!  Save The Gulf Tervis. My parents gave me this cup durin...

My Shopaholic Skin System

Image
Do you have a specific nighttime skincare regime or system? It's almost a big joke here, when I tell the DH I have to "get ready for bed" - that means I'll be in front of the mirror for at least fifteen minutes before retiring for the evening. And all because of my nightly regime!  I like to think that I have pretty decent skin and a fairly nice complexion, but it comes with an investment of my time and a little money. I've always been one of those girls who took care of her skin. Heck, I lay out in the sun for eight months out of the year - I know I must do this! :) Even when I was a teenager and in my early 20's, I didn't go to bed with makeup on my face or eyes. I can clearly recall the day my Mother took me to the Clinique counter and I was introduced to the 3-step system, some of which I still use today. Over the years, my skin's needs have changed and the products have changed as a result.  Just for fun, here are the products that I use ...

Fall Nail Color: Is It Time For A Change?

Image
Everyone knows I love summer. I love the beach, having a suntan and wearing bright colors. My love of wearing bright color extends to my manis and pedis. It always makes me a little sad the day I look down at my fingers or toes and say "it's time to retire Strawberry Margarita" (or Cajun Shrimp). Recently, I have invested in a few new polishes for fall and winter. With the addition of these to my current polish wardrobe, I am gradually embracing the darker color palettes. While the temperatures are still 70-80 degrees, it is late October, after all!  The following polishes will be in heavy rotation from now until late February...from Left to Right in above photo: "Going Incognito" by Essie "Vodka and Caviar" by OPI "Steel-Ing The Scene" by Essie "I'm Not Really A Waitress" by OPI "Lincoln Park After Dark" by OPI "OPI Red" by OPI Now I am considering the addition of a blue polish to the lineu...

Fall Fragrance Favorites

Image
Happy Monday!  Even though our temperatures for this week are in the 85-89 degree range, it's "technically" Fall. I am gradually embracing the change of season, and have moved the following favorite fragrances to the front of my vanity for rotation.  Meet my three longtime favorites for fall, winter and overall cooler weather.  "Coco Mademoiselle" by Chanel - you will get stopped everywhere and people will say "you smell wonderful". It's long been a staple in my fragrance wardrobe. Sephora says:  Sexy, fresh Oriental fragrance recalls the irrepressible spirit of the young Coco Chanel. An elegant, luxurious spray closest in strength and character to the parfum form. The signature Classic Bottle is perfect for the dressing table or for traveling. Spray lightly morning and evening on pulse points at the throat and wrist. "Addict" by Christian Dior - you need to be confident to wear this one! A little on the heavy side, it...

"They're Real" By Benefit - A New Shopaholic Favorite

Image
Happy Monday!  It's been a while since I blogged about trying a new cosmetic or skin care item, but this one is worth it's own post. A few weeks ago, my BFF Ashleigh was at the beach and had a new mascara she used before we went out to dinner. Of course Ashleigh knows I'm a total product junkie, and offered to let me try her tube. The mascara was "They're Real" by Benefit, which is sold at Sephora, Ulta, and department stores that carry Benefit.  The difference in my lashes with this mascara was ah-maze-ing. I couldn't believe it, and believe me when I say, I have tried all the supposedly "amazing" mascaras on the market. For years, I thought Definicils by Lancome and Diorshow by Dior were the best mascaras. Then I thought Magnascopic by Estee Lauder was the best. Several months ago, I bought MultiplEYE by Tarte and was so impressed I recommended it to all my family and friends. Guess what? "They're Real" by Benefit kicks all...
