Happy Sunday! Today I'm busy getting the DH ready to go out of town again tomorrow. It's been a wonderful holiday week and weekend, especially with him at home. Hope yours has been fantastic as well.  Every year, it seems I do a little more of my holiday shopping online. It's just so convenient and easy - avoiding the crowds, the traffic and the parking hassles. In addition, I know for certain I don't overspend as much when I shop online vs. in the store. Those "impulse purchases" really get me in the stores! How about you?  While you're shopping online, don't forget to check the Ebates site to see if your store is offering cash back. Happy weekend! With the holiday shopping season upon us, there is one way we can all make a difference this year. Pledge to "Shop Small" today, and celebrate Small Business Saturday.  November 26 is the second anniversary of this event, which was specifically created by American Express to celebrate small business in our local communities and invigorate local economies. Personally, I believe any opportunity to support small, locally owned business is a great thing - and that is even better (in my opinion, of course) when the business is female owned.  Today, I encourage you to support small businesses. Get out and shop with the small boutique in your town. Purchase an item from a local craftsman or artist. Can I be honest? I'm not really a big "Black Friday" shopper. While I love nothing more than a great sale and a wonderful deal, I do not enjoy shopping in huge crowds and watching folks fight over flat screen televisions. I much prefer to do most of my shopping online or via phone order.  This year, I kicked off the holiday buying season with a bang! As we travel, cook, decorate and prepare for the Thanksgiving festivities tomorrow - remember to inject a little humor in every situation. Just in time for the holiday baking season, I received this new set of bake ware and cooking supplies. Everything in the set is pink (or has pink accents). Maybe best of all - the entire set was free! You just can't beat that, right?  Many of you will remember from prior posts that I love to coupon - and while I'm not an "Extreme Couponer" - I do manage to consistently save 50-70% on my groceries, toothpaste, paper goods, etc. Unlike the folks on shows like TLC's "Extreme Couponing" - I don't purchase dozens of anything. If something is on a fantastic sale and I have coupons that make it free (or close), I will get maybe four items. In addition, I always donate items to charity or a local family in need. Are you busy planning your family's Thanksgiving meal? With just a few short days until the annual celebration, I am making grocery lists and running back and forth to Publix. (You could say they know me there...)   If your family is like mine, we all have dishes that we prepare to bring to the celebration. Once you make a great dish that everyone loves, then you are expected to bring that same dish every year. Today I'm going to share a recipe that I prepare every year for my family's Thanksgiving meal. Mine for Thanksgiving is Sweet Potato Souffle. Please let me apologize in advance that I don't have a photo of this dish to share with you guys - but I didn't want to make this until the day before Thanksgiving. :-)  Sweet Potato Souffle Ingredients: (3) Large sweet potatoes, roasted and whipped (1) Cup Sugar (I only use 1/2 cup but recipes calls for a full cup. Give me a Tervis Tumbler, and I'm one happy girl. When I find a Tervis that perfectly matches my personality, I'm even happier.  I have quite the collection of Tervis Tumblers and use one every.single.day of my life. From that one cup of coffee first thing in the morning to my Diet Coke, water and Crystal Light throughout the day - they're all in a Tervis. Since I've recently discovered the matching lids available for purchase, now I'm confident using the Tervis when traveling in the car.
