Coral Branch Jewelry For Summer

Image
During the peak of spring and summer, I find myself wearing a ton of fashion jewelry. Some of my favorite brands include Kenneth Jay Lane, Amrita Singh, Meg Carter Designs and Lilly Pulitzer.  If you are a fan of these brands, you've probably noticed the recent trend of coral branch shaped jewelry and coral colored palettes. Not just for the beach girl, these pieces are also perfect statement items and will really get people talking! I have a particular fondness for the items shaped like coral branches... Just yesterday, I wore the Amrita Singh Coral Bib Necklace (pictured above) to work with a solid black top and a white linen skirt. Since I work in a fairly conservative environment (it's a financial institution, after all!) I try to keep my wardrobe moderately tame and have fun with accessories and shoes during the week. At work, I had at least a half dozen people comment on my necklace. They were all wondering - where did you get that? Who is the designer? After work...

Wish List Wednesday: Kenneth Jay Lane on Rue La La

Image
Happy Wish List Wednesday! Today is the DH's birthday and I'm sad he isn't here - I'd love to be getting ready for a nice dinner out tonight. Alas, instead of enjoying a wonderful meal, I am only looking forward to my kickboxing class.  Today I tried to drown my sorrows by shopping "The Final Sale: Act 1" on Rue La La today. Kenneth Jay Lane is one of my favorite jewelry designers, and there are a few pieces of KJL on the sale event. (Not a member of Rue La La? Your free invite is HERE ).  The deals were fabulous - the set of green bracelets above retailed for $50.00 and were on sale for $9.90.  The set of pink beaded bracelets above also retailed for $50.00, and they were bargain basement priced at $5.90. My plan is to mix and match the pink and green bracelets - they will match a ton of the Lilly Pulitzer in my closet! :-)  And finally, this Kenneth Jay Lane turquoise and station link necklace was priced at $15.90. It originally retailed for $150.00...

Hello, Shopaholics! Welcome to Wish List Wednesday, the 4th of July edition! Many of us have gatherings, parties, BBQ's - or maybe just a day at the beach planned for 4th of July. Our annual celebration includes: sit on the beach all day, come inside for dinner, then walk right back across the street for the fireworks display. In all likelihood, I will have on a swimsuit and coverup from 10am - 10pm. Wish I could tell you it's more exciting than that, but honestly - that's just how we roll around here. :-) Now - if I were to actually go somewhere else, my ensemble would include the following... Lilly Pulitzer Roslyn Skirt, Cherry Bomb (available on www.lillypulitzer.com) Lilly Pulitzer Wynne Top, White, imagine without the green shorts! (available on www.lillypulitzer.com) Kenneth Jay Lane Caribbean Coral Cuff, in Red (available on www.qvc.com) Jack Rogers Sandals, Navy with Red Trim (available on www.sandalworld.com) How will you spend the 4th o...

How I Acquired Jimmy Buffett Tickets - The Blog Reader Who Pulled Me Out Of My Depression!

Image
Happy Saturday everyone! The weekend is finally here - and I plan to spend today resting up for ..... drum roll please ..... the Jimmy Buffett concert on Sunday! I am thrilled to report I have tickets in hand, and will be watching Jimmy perform live from the beach here in Gulf Shores, AL. Several weeks ago, over a million people logged onto Ticketmaster in an attempt to score free tickets to the "Jimmy Buffett & Friends" concert, which was originally scheduled for July 1. The concert is Jimmy's gift back to this coast, where he grew up and lived a significant portion of his early years. His sister, Lucy Buffett, has a huge restaurant/bar "Lulu's" in Gulf Shores and he visits occasionally. The intent of the concert was to bring tourism back to the beach, which has suffered significantly in the wake of the oil spill. Enter Hurricane Alex, and the concert had to be rescheduled for July 11. When the tickets went on "sale" - they were gone in ...
