Thanksgiving Blessings

Today we give thanks. Thanks for our family, thanks for our friends, thanks for our freedom. Thanks for our many blessings.  Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I hope your blessings are many.  p.s. Who else thinks it's tacky that many retailers are opening late on Thanksgiving night? Shouldn't this day be reserved for family activities and not having to worry about going to work? Ugh...

Funny Thanksgiving Quotes

As we travel, cook, decorate and prepare for the Thanksgiving festivities tomorrow - remember to inject a little humor in every situation. Holidays can be very stressful - financial pressures, dealing with your least favorite family member(s), traveling to different celebrations, etc...It can all take a toll.  Just for a good laugh this evening, I've pulled some hilarious quotes for you. Enjoy and remember, have fun and enjoy this time of year!  I love Thanksgiving turkey... it's the only time in Los Angeles that you see natural breasts. Arnold Schwarzenegger Coexistence... what the farmer does with the turkey - until Thanksgiving. But considering that (when it comes to holidays) mainstream America's traditions tend to be over-eating, shopping, or getting drunk, I suppose it's a miracle that the concept of giving thanks even...

For Your Thanksgiving Feast: Sweet Potato Souffle

Image
Are you busy planning your family's Thanksgiving meal? With just a few short days until the annual celebration, I am making grocery lists and running back and forth to Publix. Please let me apologize in advance that I don't have a photo of this dish to share with you guys - but I didn't want to make this until the day before Thanksgiving. :-)  Sweet Potato Souffle Ingredients: (3) Large sweet potatoes, roasted and whipped (1) Cup Sugar (I only use 1/2 cup but recipes calls for a full cup. Personally I think a full cup would be way too sweet!) (2) Eggs, Beaten 1/2 tsp. Salt (1)...

Counting My Blessings On Thanksgiving Day

Happy Thanksgiving, Shopaholics! On this day most of us are celebrating the holiday with our family and friends. Activities include: eating more than we should, having more than one dessert, partaking in a little bit of wine, taking a late afternoon nap, watching a football game (Go Cowboys!). What are you thankful for this year? Of course I am most thankful for my wonderful DH, family and friends - as you would expect me to say. However, I am also thankful for the following... My health No "visible oil" on our beaches - note I said "visible" because it's still there. The fact that I can wear my Lilly Pulitzer collection all year! Not leaving on a jet plane every Monday and Friday to make a living, for a company who never appreciated it anyway... Living At The Beach Empty laundry baskets Kiehl's hair straightener and my BaByliss Flat iron - those two products changed my life! Tide Pride Season Tickets (...
