Shopaholic in Alabama

We all have those stores that are "Danger Zones". Perhaps yours is clothing, shoes, accessories, crafting, home decor, furniture, or electronics? Most of us have several of those type stores (I have more than I'd like to admit) - but one of my all time favorite "Danger Zones" is Bed Bath and Beyond.  The reason for my visit to BB&B is usually pretty simple. Last week, I needed a new pair of sheets for our master bedroom. Easy, right? Perhaps if you can go in, get the one item you're looking for and then leave - yes. Easy peasy. Thank goodness I have a stockpile of those "20% off one single item" coupons! (Did you know - you can use multiples of those at one time? My store will allow me to use 5 coupons per transaction.) Just in time for the holiday baking season, I received this new set of bake ware and cooking supplies. Everything in the set is pink (or has pink accents). Maybe best of all - the entire set was free! You just can't beat that, right?  Many of you will remember from prior posts that I love to coupon - and while I'm not an "Extreme Couponer" - I do manage to consistently save 50-70% on my groceries, toothpaste, paper goods, etc. Unlike the folks on shows like TLC's "Extreme Couponing" - I don't purchase dozens of anything. If something is on a fantastic sale and I have coupons that make it free (or close), I will get maybe four items. In addition, I always donate items to charity or a local family in need. One of the things I enjoy about couponing is sending off for mail in rebates, and free gifts. Happy Tuesday, everyone! Hope your week is off to an amazing start! :-)  Long time readers will recall that I have previously blogged about my love of couponing (see January post HERE ). I will admit that I consider myself a "Coupon Queen". Think about it...you already know you're a Shopaholic, what better way to channel your shopping skills and save money at the same time? Most of my shopping and couponing is done in national drug stores CVS and Walgreen's, as well as my local Publix supermarket. Most of the cashiers in the stores know me - and are amazed at what I can save in a trip. I always save at least 50% on my grocery total - but many times I will save 70%, 80% and 90% if I'm really on my game.  In addition to saving hard earned $$$ that I would much rather spend on "fun stuff" like Lilly Pulitzer dresses and Tory Burch tunics, couponing affords me another opportunity. Yesterday we were talking about New Years resolutions; how difficult they are to keep, and how we seem to make the same ones year after year. This gave me an idea! Starting today - a new series of posts on Shopaholic In Alabama called "Resolution Solution Series". My next few posts (who knows how long this will last, I surely don't) will be all about tips and tricks to help you KEEP your resolutions. Every day I will have a new tip or trick for you to try.
