Happy Tuesday, everyone! Hope your week is lovely so far! We had a two day party around here, for the Jimmy Buffett concert on Sunday. My BFF Ashleigh, my sister and her husband all arrived on Saturday. We went out for mexican food and then came home with the intention of settling in and resting up for the concert on Sunday. However, we heard from a friend that Kid Rock was performing down the road at the Flora-Bama and then all bets were off. :-)  For those of you who have never visited this area, Flora-Bama is a huge bar on the AL-FL state line and is about 12 miles from where we live. Who do I love as much as Jimmy Buffett? Ummm....Kid Rock! Of course it was just a RUMOR - he wasn't there. :-( Sad. We stayed out wayyyyy too late and had a few too many adult beverages, and were already hurting a little when we woke up on Sunday. Happy Saturday everyone! The weekend is finally here - and I plan to spend today resting up for ..... drum roll please ..... the Jimmy Buffett concert on Sunday! I am thrilled to report I have tickets in hand, and will be watching Jimmy perform live from the beach here in Gulf Shores, AL. Several weeks ago, over a million people logged onto Ticketmaster in an attempt to score free tickets to the "Jimmy Buffett & Friends" concert, which was originally scheduled for July 1. The concert is Jimmy's gift back to this coast, where he grew up and lived a significant portion of his early years. His sister, Lucy Buffett, has a huge restaurant/bar "Lulu's" in Gulf Shores and he visits occasionally. The intent of the concert was to bring tourism back to the beach, which has suffered significantly in the wake of the oil spill. Some of you already know, but I belong to a Lilly Pulitzer Secret Santa gift exchange on Facebook . The group started with a 2009 holiday gift exchange, and everyone enjoyed it so much we decided to celebrate each new season of the year with another gift swap. The Summer gift exchange was my third one, and it didn't disappoint!
