Fearless Fitness Friday: New Cardio Playlist on a New Pink iPod

Image
TGIF, Shopaholics and welcome to Fearless Fitness Friday!  My technical skills with managing multiple iPods on the same computer, the iTunes software and different playlists leaves a little bit to be desired. For several months I have been frustrated with my Cardio playlist. It was old and in serious need of an update. With the DH (AKA my "tech guru") out of town so often, I was really in a bind.  What's a Shopaholic to do? Last weekend, I stopped in Best Buy and picked up a new pink iPod shuffle just for my workouts. Talk about exciting - a clean slate for new music. Yahoo!  Here is my new playlist - just for the 4 mile trek (about half walk, half run). Please don't judge. Heehee.  1) "Boom Boom Pow" - The Black Eyed Peas  2) "Rock Your Body" - Justin Timberlake  3) "The Edge of Glory" - Lady GaGa  4) "Family Affair" - Mary J. Blige  5) "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough" - Michael Jackson  6) ...

Skinnygirl Sangria by Bethenny Frankel

Image
Happy Thursday!  Our girl Bethenny has gone and done it again - created yet another beverage in the "Skinnygirl" line. Skinnygirl Sangria should be available in most markets by the end of July and everywhere by the end of August.  We are already big fans of Skinnygirl Margarita around here. I blame my sister for getting me hooked as she first had her DH pick it up in Panama City and bring to us at the beach. We like to add a splash of Diet Sprite and a twist of lime - this cuts down on the tartness of the drink.  Sadly the Sangria isn't available in my area yet - a major metro area this isn't, so I'm probably in the end of August distribution. Have you tried the Sangria yet? How about the Skinnygirl Margarita? Are you also a big fan? Have a stellar day!  p.s. Bethenny has been quoted as saying she is making "enough money to wipe her bum with $100 bills". I'm thinking this will help continue that tradition. Haha.

Easy Summer Dresses

Image
Hello Shopaholic Friends! Hope your Tuesday is off to a great start!  This summer, I have enjoyed wearing what I like to call "easy dresses". You know - the kind you throw on with a pair of sandals or flip flops and walk out the door. These types of dresses also make great beach cover ups, and can be accessorized for a casual dinner out.  Some of my favorites include: C & C California, Shirred Tie Dress (Shopaholic scoop: on sale for $39.90 at C & C online HERE ) Ella Moss, Susana Dress (Shopaholic scoop: on sale for $79, or 50% off, at Shopbop online HERE ) Lilly Pulitzer, Emly Crew Dress in Stuffed Shells. (sorry no sale that I'm aware of, retails for $98, available at Lilly Pulitzer online HERE ) T Bags, Necklace Bib Long Dress (Shopaholic scoop: on sale for $121, or 50% off, at Shopbop online HERE ) What are your favorite "easy summer dresses"? And are you living in them like me this year? Have a Terrific Tuesday!

I'll Take One In Every Color - Wynona Bow Neck Top by Lilly Pulitzer

Image
Happy Monday, Shopaholics! Hope you had a wonderful weekend - ours was nice but very rainy here on the Alabama gulf coast. We are in extreme drought conditions so the rain was welcome but....enough already! :-)  If you are looking for nice, basic tops this summer - look no further! Meet the "Wynona Bow Neck Top" from Lilly Pulitzer. Currently I am working on acquiring these in a rainbow of Lilly colors. The obsession began with one in Bright Navy. I love this top and it matches so many Lilly pieces I already own (wore it just last week with my Roslyn skirt in Stuffed Shells).  Wynona is now on her way here in Hotty Pink, which I will be wearing with half my closet... Also ordered the Lagoon Green Wynona, but don't tell the DH!  Next, I will "need" the white version to complete my Wynona Wardrobe!  Here's a little shopping recon for you - this Wynona top is sold out almost everywhere. Lilly Pulitzer online is sold out in full size runs, of a...

Salt Water Saturday: Kid Rock: Labor Day in Orange Beach

Image
Happy Saturday everyone!  Earlier this week, it was announced that Kid Rock was performing on Labor Day at The Wharf in Orange Beach. As many of my readers and friends know, he is one of my favorites. I don't mind embracing my "inner redneck" and admitting my fascination with Kid Rock. One day I'll tell y'all the story of meeting him in the DFW airport... This morning me and my BFF Ashleigh spent three hours outside , in the rain , getting tickets for the concert. Although we were soaked and not comfortable in the least - we were able to get the eight tickets needed for our group to all sit together!  Soooo excited for this one. I love an outdoors concert, and Kid Rock....oh yeah, baby! We are so there! :-)  Hope you have a Spectacular Saturday!  p.s. You can check out the interview with Kid Rock in the July issue of "Men's Journal" HERE .

Fearless Fitness Friday: Step Aerobics, Old School Style

Image
TGIF, Shopaholics! Welcome to Fearless Fitness Friday!  Are you a fan of step aerobics? Some of you that are a little younger won't remember - but "back in the day" Step Aerobics was almost the only group exercise class offered at the gyms and fitness centers. I'm pretty sure I took my first step class in 1987 (ssshhh don't tell, I realize this makes me sound very old!). As with anything, trends in fitness have changed over the years and now most of us are taking Kickboxing, Circuit Training, Pilates, High Intensity Aerobics, Zumba and Yoga. They are all wonderful workouts but...I often wonder "What about Step?" because I know the classes are great calorie burners.  Imagine my surprise Tuesday night when I arrived for my "Advanced Burn" class and the instructor said we were doing Step! Yeah! Amazingly enough, I remembered most of the moves and was able to keep up. It was a fun workout - and made me wish they offered it more often!  ...
