Ulta Grand Openings: Nothing But Fun

Image
Hello Everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in the past few days, there's been a lot going on around here!  As some of you will recall, I was thrilled to see that two new Ulta stores were opening in my general area. Last week, I attended the grand opening of the new Daphne store with my Mother and sister. Mother and I were in line about fifteen minutes before the ribbon was cut. In the photo above, you can see how many people were ahead of us.  My sister was about ten or so people behind us, as she had to drop off my nephew at daycare the same time Ulta was scheduled to open (which is why she wasn't in this picture). Thankfully, her DH was able to assist at the last minute and she didn't miss any of the fun!  As one of the first 100 people through the door on opening day, we were able to draw for a gift certificate to use on that day's purchases. The gift certificates ranged in value from $5 - $100. We all scored one worth $5, and while we wished it was $100, ...

"They're Real" By Benefit - A New Shopaholic Favorite

Happy Monday!  It's been a while since I blogged about trying a new cosmetic or skin care item, but this one is worth it's own post. A few weeks ago, my BFF Ashleigh was at the beach and had a new mascara she used before we went out to dinner. Of course Ashleigh knows I'm a total product junkie, and offered to let me try her tube. For years, I thought Definicils by Lancome and Diorshow by Dior were the best mascaras. Then I thought Magnascopic by Estee Lauder was the best. Several months ago, I bought MultiplEYE by Tarte and was so impressed I recommended it to all my family and friends. Guess what? "They're Real" by Benefit kicks all...

If You Can't Bake It, Fake It!

Happy Wednesday everyone! I cannot believe it's already "hump day" - honestly where is the time going? It's well documented that I enjoy laying in the sun. YES, I know. The sun is supposed to be bad for me. YES, I know. Tanning causes skin cancer. YES, I know. I'm supposed to wear high SPF. I do. Especially on my face. As a result, I always end up with another problem...my face is lighter than my body. Significantly lighter. Do you use a bronzing powder? I have found that using one is the best solution to my "problem" with the white face and tan body. :-) Lucky for you, I have tried many bronzers in my day - meet "The Best Bronzers Around". Stila Sun Highlighter Retail price is around $26 and you can purchase at Sephora, Ulta, or directly from Stila.com. This powder does NOT have any gold flecks, but allows me to gradually build up the color on my face to match the color on my neck/chest. Use a large powder brush for application, and app...
