Lilly Pulitzer Fall, Part Two...

Image
Who remembers my blog post about the Fall 2012 Lilly Pulitzer collection, and how fall was always one of my least favorite seasons? I'm hoping you forgot that I said I was DONE buying Lilly Pulitzer Fall, because guess what?!!?! Epic fail, as last week I caved and bought several new pieces! (Evidence of my September post HERE ).  As always, there's a sale to blame. It's really not my fault. I have to look put together at work, and my office is pretty conservative. And besides, my employer is a financial institution. As you can imagine, I'm usually one of the most colorful peeps in the building!  My friend Sarah over at Village Palm (website HERE , Facebook page HERE ) had lots of the Fall delivery on sale, so I picked up a few additional pieces. Here are some of them: Callie Wedges, $228. Of course I realize this shoe doesn't scream "Fall" to many of you - especially if you're in an area that gets really cold. Luckily, we don't receive a ton...

Small Business Saturday

Image
Happy weekend! With the holiday shopping season upon us, there is one way we can all make a difference this year. Pledge to "Shop Small" today, and celebrate Small Business Saturday.  November 26 is the second anniversary of this event, which was specifically created by American Express to celebrate small business in our local communities and invigorate local economies. Personally, I believe any opportunity to support small, locally owned business is a great thing - and that is even better (in my opinion, of course) when the business is female owned.  Today, I encourage you to support small businesses. Get out and shop with the small boutique in your town. Purchase an item from a local craftsman or artist. Pick up that gift card from your favorite local restaurant, and treat someone on your holiday gift list to a fantastic dinner.  I'll be shopping with two of my favorite boutiques. While one of them is not local - they are both female owned and are small busine...

Lilly Pulitzer Fall Sale At Village Palm

Image
TGIF!  Can you believe it? Until today, I had yet to purchase one single item from the Lilly Pulitzer Fall 2011 collection! The reason, you ask? Mainly because it's been 80 degrees here forever, and I haven't felt the "need" to purchase fall clothing. Late this week, my "needs" changed when cool weather arrived!  My friends at Village Palm, a Lilly Pulitzer Via store in Grosse Pointe, Michigan,  are having a sale on some of the early deliveries of Fall. The deals are applicable in the store, and also for phone or email orders. If you're still looking to make that first purchase of Lilly's fall collection, or you "need" a few pieces you have yet to purchase, please consider Village Palm. I order from them all the time and you can't beat the service! :-)  My purchases today included the Evie Dress in Ring Pop... And the Joanie Dress in Behind The Rope... I managed to stop at just two dresses, which I felt was exercising som...

Lilly Pulitzer's Endless Summer Sale

Image
Eliana Dress in Turquoise Moheatoh, Sale Price $99, Retail Price $298 Hello my friends! This morning I had a little extra spring in my step, knowing it was the "Big Day" as the Lilly Pulitzer Endless Summer Sale would begin. I hopped right out of bed and immediately turned on the laptop - even before having my caffeine fix. :-)  Although a lot of the Lilly Pulitzer summer 2011 was included in this sale, I opted for a few of the older pieces from previous Resort and Spring collections. Some of these I have been trying to find for quite a while, and was thrilled to see them available at great prices!  My heart skipped a beat when I found the Eliana dress (see above photo) on Lilly's website. I have wanted this ever since I saw LP's Fashion Director, Janie Schoenborn, photographed in the dress. Side note: if you ever get a chance to meet Janie, take advantage of it. She is a doll and a design genius! Now I'm happy to report the dress is on it's way to my...

I'll Take One In Every Color - Wynona Bow Neck Top by Lilly Pulitzer

Image
Happy Monday, Shopaholics! Hope you had a wonderful weekend - ours was nice but very rainy here on the Alabama gulf coast. We are in extreme drought conditions so the rain was welcome but....enough already! :-)  If you are looking for nice, basic tops this summer - look no further! Meet the "Wynona Bow Neck Top" from Lilly Pulitzer. Currently I am working on acquiring these in a rainbow of Lilly colors. The obsession began with one in Bright Navy. I love this top and it matches so many Lilly pieces I already own (wore it just last week with my Roslyn skirt in Stuffed Shells).  Wynona is now on her way here in Hotty Pink, which I will be wearing with half my closet... Also ordered the Lagoon Green Wynona, but don't tell the DH!  Next, I will "need" the white version to complete my Wynona Wardrobe!  Here's a little shopping recon for you - this Wynona top is sold out almost everywhere. Lilly Pulitzer online is sold out in full size runs, of a...

Good Stuff: Exhaustion, The Body Shop Groupon, Ebates and Lilly GWP!

Image
Happy Tuesday, everyone! Today's post is a little unusual - and might just give you an idea of the depth of my ADD. :-) First - I did make it to the gym yesterday. I managed to not eat anything white, drank a ton of water, and the only "sweet" I had was sugar free chocolate pudding last night. This is a major victory, y'all. I took the Tone to Stone class, along with the 15 minute ab class before TTS started. It's possible that I might not be able to get out of bed in the morning. Think lunges with weights, back and forth across the room. Think 50 pushups and I can't even count the situps. My fat body is crying. As Scarlett said - "Tomorrow is Another Day". :-) Second - I am addicted to Groupon! Almost every day there is a deal I want to purchase! Today - a $40 Groupon to "The Body Shop" for $20. The Groupon can be used on their website ( HERE ) or in the store! The best part? The value of the Groupon increases to $45 when you use it ...

Lilly Pulitzer Store Review

Image
TGIF, Shopaholics! Any big plans for the weekend? It feels wonderful to say, we are planning quality beach time and that is it! :-)  As my frequent readers and friends already know, I have been doing quite a bit of shopping lately for my favorite brand, Lilly Pulitzer. Beginning around March 10, the market was flooded with a lot of opportunities to get my "fix".  (both online and in-store). Throw in the "Lunch At Lilly" promotion, then the Via shoppes online sales and you have one very spent out Shopaholic. Now I don't know about you, but once I make a purchase (at any retailer, Ebay, even Shopaholic's Preppy Closet) and the seller has my $$$ or card number, I want the merchandise to arrive quickly. And honestly, if it doesn't arrive within 7-10 days after purchase, I start to get a little squirrely. Now if the seller/store has a legitimate issue and notifies me of said issue, I do have patience and can deal with the problem without getting ne...

"Lunch At Lilly" Loot

Image
Happy Sunday, Shopaholics! Hope your weekend is wonderful! Do you celebrate "Lunch At Lilly"? This is an annual event (generally the 2nd Saturday of March) where the corporate Lilly stores, as well as some Via shops, offer a fantastic gift with purchase. The minimum purchase level is usually $500 but the gifts - they are awesome! Most of the GWP's are produced just for the Lunch At Lilly promotion and are not available for general purchase. Even more exciting than the GWP's, by making a purchase you are entered into a contest to win a trip to Lilly's corporate headquarters. Also known as "The Pink Palace" - winners will spend a day at Lilly's headquarters and have the opportunity to design their own print! Wow - wouldn't that be fun?!?! Talk about the experience of a lifetime! :-) So what if I don't live near a Lilly Pulitzer store? You all know I love to shop online and via the phone, so of course I participated in this year's promot...

True Cost of a Hunting Trip...

Image
Happy Thursday! I had to look twice at the calendar - is it really Thursday and where has the week gone? I'm honestly not sure... Many of you will recall, last week DH was gone to the hunting camp for several days. While he was gone, I "might" have had a wee bit too much fun ordering up some of my favorite goodies. He went back this week, but is now home. And I can pinky promise swear I have been a good girl so far. (hey, the week isn't over...don't get too excited!) Yesterday * thank goodness* all the boxes had been disposed of, this picture was already taken, and all the new goodies were snuggled into their proper place two hours before the Mr. arrived. The only exception is our new bedding, which will be put out once the guest bedroom has been painted. Maybe I have a chance at this next month... The Haul, or "Damages" included: *Lilly Pulitzer Bedding Set, Bedskirt and Pillow Shams/Covers from Garnett Hill *Tory Burch Romy flats in Turquoise...

Lori Loves Elsa - Tops, That Is...

Image
My goodness, I can't believe it's already Thursday! I'm beginning to wonder if I will be ready for Santa's arrival...T-minus 9 days...yikes! And since I'm already so overwhelmed, and should be taking care of business, instead I'll be spending this afternoon in my stylist's chair. Phillip is going to DIE when he sees how much work my hair needs! Let's just say this - the remodel has not been kind to my roots, and I still have some paint in my hair. Oops. Moving right along to fun stuff - have you tried the ELSA top from Lilly Pulitzer? If not - you.must.get.one. Lilly added these to the line last year (resort) and the top quickly became a favorite among the pink and green crowd. I seem to recall, even my buddy Alice over at Summer Is A Verb looking high and low for a particular print in Elsa. :-) For the 2010 Resort line, the Elsa is back and it continues to be on my wish list, in every print/fabric combination - of course! I just ordered these two f...

Lilly Pulitzer Fall Acquisitions From Village Palm

Image
Happy Wednesday, and welcome to September! As promised, today my mind is doing an ever sooooo slight turn towards fall. And in the spirit of "Shopaholic Confessions", I must tell you about the new goodies on their way to my home. :-) Can I tell you a secret? I'm not a big "Fan of Fall" in general. Except that brief stint up north (you know, Charlotte) I've never lived in a place where Fall really happened. Translation: NO FALL WEATHER around these parts. Sometimes we are wearing shorts and short sleeves at Thankgiving. And since I don't have children, so the whole back to school thing doesn't get me excited. (Other than the fact that I get my beach back when everyone goes back to school), heehee. I don't really like Halloween much either. My parents were never big on it, and I suppose my childhood Halloween experiences followed me to adult life. One thing I do get excited about during the Fall months is the start of football season, but I'l...
