We all have those stores that are "Danger Zones". Perhaps yours is clothing, shoes, accessories, crafting, home decor, furniture, or electronics? Most of us have several of those type stores (I have more than I'd like to admit) - but one of my all time favorite "Danger Zones" is Bed Bath and Beyond.  The reason for my visit to BB&B is usually pretty simple. Last week, I needed a new pair of sheets for our master bedroom. Easy, right? Perhaps if you can go in, get the one item you're looking for and then leave - yes. Easy peasy. Thank goodness I have a stockpile of those "20% off one single item" coupons! (Did you know - you can use multiples of those at one time? My store will allow me to use 5 coupons per transaction.) Even I can't believe it - but we've been here at the beach for four years. During the majority of this time, we've had drab white walls and white trim. It looked absolutely awful and we've been wanting to brighten up the joint for quite a while.  I'm pleased to report that we recently agreed on a color scheme, and painted some of the common areas of the condo. The kitchen and hallway going into the kitchen are both painted pink. Officially, the color is named "First Kiss". The color extends into the kitchen and even the DH is pleased with the results. (Please forgive the god-awful counter top and cabinets - they are next on the remodel list - I can only task the DH with so much in a short period of time, ha!) The pink color extends on the walls leading into the dining room, and we painted the dining room a lime green. The official color name is "Twist of Lime" and it's really fun! My decor usually consists of a traditional theme (think Old World Christmas style). I have spent years, and never to be admitted in public $'s collecting Christopher Radko ornaments. To date, I have almost 200 Radkos in my collection.  While they are beautiful and I love trimming the tree with such gorgeous ornaments, the process is lengthy. Each ornament is stored in it's own original box, and must be handled with care. They are removed one by one, unwrapped and hung on the tree. The Christopher Radko ornaments become very heavy when you hang that many, therefore the option of having a live tree is not advised. (After your Christmas tree falls and you lose a few beloved retired ornaments, you get smart). When decorating with the Radkos, I must use an artificial tree. And I'm ok with that - norm...

Do you ever walk into a store, and before you have a chance to look around, you know you're in trouble? For me, one of "those" stores is Bed Bath & Beyond. Last week, I needed to replace the rugs in my kitchen. I have to do this every few months (I am one of those people that prefers to wash the kitchen rugs once a week so they don't last long). I never spend a ton of money on kitchen rugs, for this very reason!  While in BB&B, I made the mistake of looking through the bath decor and accessories. As you can already guess, I left the store with some new pretties for our master bathroom.  What do you think? My Fall fragrances are now within my reach and ready to be used on a daily basis. Happy Wednesday, everyone! Hope you are making it through the week with a huge smile! Many of you have asked about our bathroom remodeling project, and when I would be sharing photos. I promise - I am going to do it! I'm one of those people that wants everything just so before I show it off. I guess it's because I see all these photos on blogs of people's home and decorating, and I might feel a little inferior. In general, design and creativity are not one of my skill sets. But I manage to make it look presentable around here. :-) When we started our remodel, one of our first projects was the bathroom cabinets. They were covered in probably five coats of paint (pretty sure I saw pepto pink and yellow, and white was the top coat). We decided to attempt to strip all the old paint off the cabinets in preparation for sanding and staining. All this was to restore their natural wood finish and color.
