Back On The Wagon...

Happy Monday, Shopaholics!

The DH and I enjoyed a long weekend out of town with family, sorry I deserted you guys for a few days!

I've been having a great time around these parts. Eating whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted, and only exercising "sometimes". Having concoctions like Sangria, Pina Coladas or Mudslides at will.  Guess what?!?!? I am paying for it now!

Some of my favorite clothes are feeling tight, I absolutely *loathe* the way I look in photographs, and I generally feel bad about myself. What's a Shopaholic to do?

Today is the day..."detox" begins. This means:

***No sweets (this include Lilly animal crackers, sad), no white bread/buns (there goes my Nathan's hot dogs!), white rice, etc.
***Back to the grind of five days a week at the gym or taking my 4-mile walk/run.
***Cooking dinner more often than not, and laying off the dining out and fast food. Not sure when I'll get a Beef and Cheddar from Arby's again!
***Water, water, water. I have to drink more. Is it possible for this Diet Coke addict to drink equal parts water/Diet Coke?

Today's decision - which exercise class should I attend? "Tone to Stone" or "Jump & Pump"?!? They both sound tough for detox week...

I wish I could tell you I loved to exercise. I just don't, I'm not one of those people. Does anyone really "love" to exercise? Lots of folks say they do, but do we believe them???

Wish me luck. I might be grumpy for a while.

p.s. If you have any diet, exercise, or detox secrets - please comment and share! I can't be the only one who needs help!

  1. I say go for "Jump and Pump" class, sounds like it will be a more, motivating start to your detox. Get some endorphins, going! And hmmm, I'd say my only advice would be to stay strict to your eating and exercise habits, but when you do go out for a date night or have a fun event, to allow yourself to indulge a bit! If you never allow yourself to indulge, you're less likely to be able to stick with it! Happy Monday!

  4. I'm trying really hard right now too. I seem to forget on the weekends though. I run/work out pretty much every day Lori, it's the diet that is so hard. Best to eat at home - you will always eat healthier. I try to stick to 1200-1400 calories a day when dieting and keep a food diary. I've done it for 4 years and it works!

  6. You can do it! If it weren't for the Zumba classes at my gym, working out would not be as much fun. I think you always look so pretty in all your pictures :) Have a great week!

  7. I've learned to "love" to workout. If I dont, then I know I won't lose any weight. I only drink water and I follow weight watchers which works great for me!
