Happy Monday! The calendar finally made it official - spring has sprung! Here's the weather we will be enjoying on the Alabama gulf coast this week! Aren't you happy to see spring arrive? Happy Tuesday! Hope you've had a wonderful start to the new week! Yesterday was a little crazy, as evidenced by some of the comments received here...I've never had as many anonymous comments as I received Monday. I made the decision to leave them all up and not delete any; as I truly believe most folks will draw their own conclusions anyway. Additionally, I was very excited to receive dozens of supportive emails - both from readers and a few high level executives. Moving right along - I'm getting tired of the cold. I don't know how those of you who live in really cold climates like MA, MI, WI, etc make it through the winter. My town is packed with snowbirds that are down here to escape the bitter cold. I have a theory: the birds can fly down to the Alabama coast, rent a house or condo for $1500-2000 per month - and that is probably cheaper than their heating costs/utilities in many major metropolitan areas. Happy Good Friday, my fashionistas! Sorry I've been a tad MIA on the blog and twitter this week. I have been enjoying time with my family in from out of town, we've had such a wonderful time. Now everyone has gone back home (insert sad face). Most of you will remember that Shopaholic In Alabama, along with BFF Bethany over at  Maryland Pink and Green co-hosted a Spring Gift Swap. I was matched up with a friend named Kristin for the swap. Kristin and I met at the Lilly Pulitzer warehouse sale in the summer of 2007 through a mutual friend. Over the past six or so months, we also have enjoyed getting to know each other better through another online message board. Earlier this week, I was thrilled to recieve my package from Kristin. Soooo much fun! Hi there, Shopaholic pals! Hope you're having a lovely weekend! Saturday was the first "official" day of Spring, but honestly you wouldn't know it here! We were all set for a beach day - new chairs, new Lilly beach towel and bathing suit, and a new 55 calorie beer. The forecast was a high of 71-73 degrees. It should have been perfection......but alas, it was not to be. The day was mostly cloudy, with a few peeks of sun here and there. The wind was blowing, about 15-20 MPH. The temperature couldn't have reached anywhere close to 70. We were in total denial for over an hour, DH and I both refusing to give up on our first full beach day and the promise of a tan line. After I put a towel over my legs, and then a second one over my shoulders, we knew it was a lost cause. Time to come inside.
