My New $10 Toywatch

Image
Sometimes, it pays to be home sick!  Yesterday morning I was jolted into reality by the noise of some very strong storms. Lightning, thunder, and rain blowing sideways. I was a little disoriented because after all, I had taken a heavy duty pain pill to get some sleep the night before. (Lortab #10, anyone?). At any rate, I woke in a fog and decided to grab my laptop and stay in bed for several more hours - and hopefully go back to sleep.  When I logged on to the computer, I noticed that Rue La La was in the middle of another "Final Sale" and Toywatch was one of the brands included. Long time readers will remember that last March, I purchased my first Toywatch (blog post HERE ). My original watch is pink and it's plastic. I have worn that watch so much, and I get compliments on it all the time. I have long wanted another Toywatch in a different color, and have been patiently waiting on just the right deal!  The bright green "jelly" Toywatch was on sale for...

Can Someone Please Hide My Wallet?

Image
And while you're at it, can you erase any card numbers stored in my memory? Heaven help me. Lilly Pulitzer will be a featured boutique on Rue La La today, starting at 10AM Central, 8AM Pacific. I have to admit, I've been a little disappointed in the past few Lilly Pulitzer events on Rue La La. However, you just never know what Rue La La has in store. My advice? Be there early, and use the "Quick Buy" feature if you "need" something. Chances are, if you want it, someone else does too! (your free invite to Rue La La is HERE , if you're not already a member). Side note: I love that RLL accepts Paypal!  As if this wasn't enough, the Trina Turk for Banana Republic collection is now online. I am dying over sooo many pieces in this collection, and trying to be reasonable about my purchases at the same time. Isn't that an oxymoron? HA! My plan is to limit purchases to items I can wear to work. (stop laughing now, please). I've narrowed my imm...

Wish List Wednesday: Kenneth Jay Lane on Rue La La

Image
Happy Wish List Wednesday! Today is the DH's birthday and I'm sad he isn't here - I'd love to be getting ready for a nice dinner out tonight. Alas, instead of enjoying a wonderful meal, I am only looking forward to my kickboxing class.  Today I tried to drown my sorrows by shopping "The Final Sale: Act 1" on Rue La La today. Kenneth Jay Lane is one of my favorite jewelry designers, and there are a few pieces of KJL on the sale event. (Not a member of Rue La La? Your free invite is HERE ).  The deals were fabulous - the set of green bracelets above retailed for $50.00 and were on sale for $9.90.  The set of pink beaded bracelets above also retailed for $50.00, and they were bargain basement priced at $5.90. My plan is to mix and match the pink and green bracelets - they will match a ton of the Lilly Pulitzer in my closet! :-)  And finally, this Kenneth Jay Lane turquoise and station link necklace was priced at $15.90. It originally retailed for $150.00...

Mark Your Calendar: Lilly Pulitzer Sale on Rue La La, Friday August 12

Image
Happy Hump Day, friends! Sorry for my lack of posts recently - just haven't been in the mood to blog and wasn't sure you'd even miss me. Blog readership, comments, etc are way down and I'm not really sure why. I'm beginning to wonder if the Preppy Police blackballed me when I wasn't looking. :-(   Oh well! For those who are still here and still want to read my little blog, get your wallets and your fingers ready for Friday! Lilly Pulitzer is returning to Rue La La (if you're not already a member, you can join free with my link HERE ). The preview photo shows the Shauna Tunic Dress from Fall 2010, so I'm inclined to believe the sale will include items from that collection - and perhaps others! Please see preview pic below - and forgive me for not cropping it and deleting all the "extra stuff" around the photo.  Even more exciting for me? Friday is also my 41st Birthday! So isn't that a perfect excuse to treat myself to a few pieces of ...

Wish List Wednesday: Sky on Rue La La

Image
Happy Hump Day, Shopaholics!  Welcome to Wish List Wednesday! I suppose it's possible I've watched tooooo many episodes of the "Real Housewives" (New Jersey and Orange County are the current favs) - as today's wish list is filled with beautiful tops and dresses by Sky. Sky was on Rue La La yesterday, and I was quick enough to order one of these tops. (If you're not already a member of RLL, your free invite is HERE ). I'm currently "sleeping on" a few others and might cave tomorrow but had to draw the line somewhere.  If you've ever admired the beautiful beaded and jeweled tops and dresses that lots of the Housewives wear on the episodes - you are going to be in heaven! Without further ado, meet "Sky".  Sky Dodson Midnight Halter Top, $49.90 on Rue La La, $120 retail. (This is the one top I ordered yesterday).  Sky Blue Wave Print Silk Halter Top, $79.90 on Rue La La, $195 retail. Beautiful jeweled neckline, looks marv...

What's In The Box?

Image
Happy Hump Day, Shopaholics! Question: how much Lilly can fit into a size 6 shoe box for mailing purposes? Answer: three pieces total - two dresses and one full length caftan! Are you wondering "what in the world"!?!?!? For the past two weeks, I've been hearing about Lilly sightings at TJ Maxx and Marshalls all over the place - CA, MI, SC, TX, etc.  Mind you, there isn't one piece in any of our TJ Maxx or Marshalls (I've been to four total stores around these parts). So when I was without internet at Gilligan's Dauphin Island and had my lip stuck out because I couldn't get my hands on any of my coveted Lilly in Fresh Catch Toile or Tisket Tasket prints (both from last summer's collection), my dear friend and fellow Lilly lover Hadley rescued me! Literally! Hadley had the scoop, and knew I "needed" those pieces. We texted back and forth several times and on a Saturday afternoon, my sweet friend went out in the snow (in St. Louis, wh...

Wish List Wednesday

Image
Happy Hump Day, Shopaholics! Today I thought it would be fun to bring back Wish List Wednesday. I haven't featured a wish list - at least on Wednesday - in a very long time!  So without further ado, a few things that are on this shopaholic's radar. Tory Burch, Dean Metallic Hobo, $395. This would be a great piece for me, as I generally prefer to carry a neutral, solid color leather handbag. I've been carrying my gold Lilly Pulitzer Mar-A-Lago tote for several months and it might need to be retired soon...the Dean appears to be a suitable replacement. Calypso St. Barth for Target, Shireen dress, Alexa tunic and Smock Neck dress , various prices up to $79.99.  Yes, you're reading this right. Calypso St. Barth will be available at Target on May 1, 2011. For those of us who live in a vacation state of mind, this collection is perfect. I predict a quick sellout on all the pieces and will certainly "need", at a minimum , the Shireen and Alexa. I cannot wait t...

New Fascination With ToyWatch

Image
Happy Thursday, Shopaholics! Hope you're all doing wonderful and having a great week! So sorry I haven't updated in a few days, it's been a crazy time around the funny farm! Last Sunday we participated in our annual Mardi Gras parade (photos later, promise). Monday was "recovery day" which really wasn't recovery but more work, work, work. Then Tuesday was Mardi Gras Day and DH had to work (sad but true). I made the best of it and spent the day with my parents and nephews, attending our nice and calm parades here at the beach. Yesterday I spent the day cleaning, catching up on laundry, working over at Shopaholic's Preppy Closet (you can see the new listings HERE ).  Back to today's fun! Have you heard of ToyWatch? When I mentioned this brand on SPC, I realized that not many of the fans knew about the brand. I will admit that I'd never heard of the brand until Sandra Bullock wore one in the movie "The Blind Side". It was white, big, bl...

True Cost of a Hunting Trip...

Image
Happy Thursday! I had to look twice at the calendar - is it really Thursday and where has the week gone? I'm honestly not sure... Many of you will recall, last week DH was gone to the hunting camp for several days. While he was gone, I "might" have had a wee bit too much fun ordering up some of my favorite goodies. He went back this week, but is now home. And I can pinky promise swear I have been a good girl so far. (hey, the week isn't over...don't get too excited!) Yesterday * thank goodness* all the boxes had been disposed of, this picture was already taken, and all the new goodies were snuggled into their proper place two hours before the Mr. arrived. The only exception is our new bedding, which will be put out once the guest bedroom has been painted. Maybe I have a chance at this next month... The Haul, or "Damages" included: *Lilly Pulitzer Bedding Set, Bedskirt and Pillow Shams/Covers from Garnett Hill *Tory Burch Romy flats in Turquoise...

Weekend Whereabouts

Image
Happy Saturday! Aren't you glad it's the weekend? Hopefully you are experiencing nice weather instead of bitter cold, snow and ice like earlier this week. It's sunny here and not quite as cold, so I'm a happy camper! We have a busy weekend of celebrations planned. On Saturday, I will be attending my dear cousin's baby shower. This is somewhat difficult for me to comprehend. It seems like just yesterday DH and I were keeping her on the weekends, taking her to the beach, teaching her everything we knew about life.  CG was the flower girl in our wedding! Of course she was very young then, and next month, she will have her first child. Amazing. Time really flies, doesn't it? While I can't reveal my gift (in case she reads!) - I hope someone presents CG with a "diaper cake". I understand they are fairly simple to make, but no way I would ever attempt to create one. I'm not sure what line I got in when creative skills were being hande...

Rue La La - Final Sale, Acts I & II

Image
Happy Hump Day! Most of my friends from Atlanta to Boston are experiencing extreme winter weather. Please be careful out there! I feel silly complaining about "just" cold weather when you guys are literally stuck at home. I hope you have the essentials - plenty of food, wine by the case and a great internet connection. Let's don't forget activities for the little ones who have now been stuck inside for too long! And possibly a wee bit of medication for the Mommies too... Since you're stuck inside, do not forget to shop the Rue La La Final Sale, Act I & II. You'll be so mad at yourself if you miss it! "Final Sale, Act I" premiered yesterday and so many fabulous brands were featured - Tory Burch, DVF, Tibi, Stuart Weitzman, 7 For All Mankind, HONORA and others. If you're not a member of Rue La La, membership is free and HERE is your invite! I managed to score this pair of Tory Burch Romy Flats in Turquoise Blue, on sale for $120, regular $...

Image
Happy Monday, Shopaholics! Hope you had a fantastic weekend and are enjoying your Monday! Deal Alert!  Tuesday is a huge Lilly Pulitzer shopping day on two of my favorite websites! I thought you all would want to know what is coming, so you can plan accordingly! Sales begin at 11AM EST. Me, I won't be leaving the house on Tuesday until I've seen what will be featured! :-) The Garnett Hill - Lilly Pulitzer collection will be on Rue La La . Isn't the Treasure Chest Collection to die for??? Based on the preview, it appears there will be lots of goodies! Are you a member of RLL? If not, click HERE for your invitation to Rue La La, as my guest. Also on Tuesday, Lilly Pulitzer will be appearing on One Kings Lane. When Lilly was on OKL back in February, the products were all part of the stationery line (which is produced by Lifeguard Press). I racked up and ordered all types of goodies then, and am ready for some more. :-) One Kings Lane is also "in...
