New Fascination With ToyWatch
Happy Thursday, Shopaholics! Hope you're all doing wonderful and having a great week! So sorry I haven't updated in a few days, it's been a crazy time around the funny farm!
Last Sunday we participated in our annual Mardi Gras parade (photos later, promise). Monday was "recovery day" which really wasn't recovery but more work, work, work. Then Tuesday was Mardi Gras Day and DH had to work (sad but true). I made the best of it and spent the day with my parents and nephews, attending our nice and calm parades here at the beach. Yesterday I spent the day cleaning, catching up on laundry, working over at Shopaholic's Preppy Closet (you can see the new listings HERE).
Back to today's fun! Have you heard of ToyWatch? When I mentioned this brand on SPC, I realized that not many of the fans knew about the brand. I will admit that I'd never heard of the brand until Sandra Bullock wore one in the movie "The Blind Side". It was white, big, blingly and absolutely stunning! Of course I love big watches (and big jewelry in general) but I tend to wear my same Gucci or Burberry watches over and over again. I had not purchased a new watch in several years, and made it my new mission to find a ToyWatch that fit my personality and style.
Information about ToyWatch, directly from their website:
In the fall of 2005, Milan-based designer and wristwatch aficionado Marco Mavilla designed the first TOYWATCH. A lightweight, oversized plastic watch, inspired by high design timepieces, TOYWATCH is unexpected, arresting and irreverent. Under the direction of fine-watch collector and TOYWATCH USA CEO, Randy Gordon, TOYWATCH was brought to the USA in the summer of 2006. An anti-luxury statement in a luxury obsessed culture, TOYWATCH has become the "it" wristwatch and the "must-have" item among style influentials and tastemakers. The brand ignited a firestorm in the fashion, design and accessories industries and has been heralded as a sensation by the press. Fall of 2007 will welcome the first ever, freestanding TOYWATCH store - if you find yourself at Via Montenapoleone in Milan, come check out ToyWatch.
TOYWATCH watches are available at www.toywatchusa.com, and in more than 300 fine stores, including Barney's, Henri Bendel, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Bloomingdales. Fans of TOYWATCH include Oprah, Madonna, Sienna Miller, Clive Owen, Jessica Alba, Owen Wilson, Uma Thurman and Katie Holmes.
Lucky for me, ToyWatch was featured on Rue La La in early March and I scored the pink watch pictured at the top of this post for HALF price! So excited! The watch arrived last week and I could not be more pleased! Even the DH is a fan, and believe me, it takes a lot to earn his "stamp of approval".
Just so you know, I've seen ToyWatch featured on Rue La La twice in the past year. The prices were generally 40-50% off retail which makes a great deal! If you're not a member of Rue La La, you should go ahead and sign up so you're ready for the next time! (Your free invitation HERE).
Rest assured I will be watching for the brand to be featured again! I might "need" another one....maybe in blue....
White seems like a safe but great choice, and I do love that mother of pearl dial...
Which color do you like best? Do you own a ToyWatch or are you already a fan of the brand?
Enjoy your Thursday, and be sure to tune in tomorrow for a special invitation you don't want to miss!
