Mardi Gras Giveaway WINNER - Happy Mardi Gras!


Happy Fat Tuesday, everyone! Today we are celebrating the last few parades of the Mardi Gras season. I'm staying at home and not going into "the big city" for the parades. We have two small ones here at the beach, and they're wonderful because of the smaller crowds AND they are not rowdy. The worst thing that can happen to you here is a snowbird wrestle you down to the ground fighting over a bead. HAHA

Before my parents and nephew arrive, I wanted to announce the winner of our Mardi Gras GIVEAWAY! Congratulations to...........alanna, who said... hmm, my favorite local tradition for mardi gras? they close down the streets of san diego for a big fat tuesday celebration! you pay a certian price to get into teh area, beer is cheap and everyone's dressed up! very fun!

    Happy Mardi Gras!

    Actually, there is one other awful thing that can happen during Mardi Gras in Mobile...when my husband was doing an optometry rotation there, he had a patient come in from a parade with a detached retina - from a Moon Pie! I kid you not!!! =O (FYI...it healed just fine with treatment - just always thought that was a wild story!)

Birthday Celebration: Lilly Pulitzer Giveaway from The Pink Pelican

Today I will celebrate my birthday. I'm a little bit sad to report, the DH is out of town and won't be able to come home for the festivities. Not that it's a big deal or anything (not a milestone birthday or anything), but I am a LEO and y'all know it's true - Leos love their birthday. I'm no exception! Tonight I will celebrate with my sister and BFF by going out to dinner, and tomorrow with birthday cake and gifts with my parents, nephews and friends.
