Gilligan's Island Internet Connection!

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone! I had planned to actually blog from here at Dauphin Island - maybe I mean Gilligan's Island though! The internet connection is awful - to use my laptop, I have to get in the car and go to a "hot spot" (code: seafood market) to get online. Ugh.

I'll be back to civilization soon and have lots of fun things planned. Until then, have a great Memorial Day holiday and don't forget why we celebrate the day. It's not just about the beach, boat and barbequing! Thank a veteran this weekend!

p.s. Need your suggestions - how do I handle shopping next week while the DH is on vacation!?!?!? Ugh - so much "together time". Code: how do I pull the UPS boxes inside without him seeing them? Help!

    Thanks for posting a reminder about memorial day, sometimes its easy to get lost in the fun and festivities and forget what its all about. I completely understand your pain on the computer situation too; in fact, my laptop just died a few days ago so i am commenting now from my iphone! And a suggestion for taming shopping while the hubs is gone? Make a folder on your browser called "things i want to buy" and everytime you find something you want, just stick it in that folder. Make a budget on how much you want to spend. Wait til the end of the week and pick your three favorite things from your folder, and stay within your budget!

    Have fun! In regards to hiding online shopping deliveries from your husband - figure out when your UPS guy usually comes and send your husband out to the store pick up random things at that time! :)

    You don't have to go the seafood market on Dauphin Island for a "hot spot"--go to mack'n'dd'sEMPORIUM--a shopahlic's delight! It is a gift shop and art gallery and you can sit in comfort on their shaded back deck and blog away using the free high speed internet they provide! The gift shop-gallery is a great place for to shop too if you are so inclined!So- you can go to the the Emporium and Kill 2 birds with one stone----er-- trip!

    You can actually call UPS and ask them to hold your packages at the station... then they can either be re-delivered when the coast is clear, or you can just go there and pick them up and store them safely in the trunk until D is out of the way. :)

    As far as the actual SHOPPING part goes, if he catches you online, tell him it's blog research! LOL

Today I will celebrate my birthday. I'm a little bit sad to report, the DH is out of town and won't be able to come home for the festivities.
