Fearless Fitness Friday: Progress Report - 7 Weeks, 15 Pounds
TGIF, Shopaholics! Are you all ready for the holiday weekend? The DH arrives home today and I'm so excited - he's been gone for over two weeks!
Welcome to another edition of Fearless Fitness Friday. In the spirit of keeping me honest, I thought it would be a great time to update you guys on my progress.
I've been working toward my goal for seven weeks now. Although it's really more like eight weeks, but I took eight days off earlier in June so I'm only counting seven weeks. Shopaholic Math at work! :-)
It's official: I have lost fifteen pounds. That is a little over two pounds per week, and 2-3 pounds lost per week was my original goal. However, I know I could be doing better. I haven't been quite as restrictive on my eating as I should or could have been. I could do better about eating dinner too late, sometimes it's 7:30-8:00 before I have dinner. I could exercise better portion control. Ugh.
While I plan to enjoy the holiday weekend and the DH being home, I know I must do better next week. Wish me luck.
A few mysteries for you:
1) If I have lost fifteen pounds, why am I still wearing the same size in most of my clothing? Especially my Lilly Pulitzer...although I'm told they are cutting smaller the past two seasons, and did away with the vanity sizing. Surely that must be it!?!?
2) Why do women lose a ton of weight in the boobies first??? I'm willing to bet that five of my fifteen pounds have come from that area - and that wasn't what I wanted. Why can't I select the area the weight come from? Double Ugh.
One success for you:
My body is definitely getting stronger. My four miles is getting faster, and I'm running longer distances. During my group classes, I am less winded and able to keep up. Several weeks ago, I worked out with a dear friend's 21 year old daughter. She couldn't keep up - and I could. I shouldn't admit this in public, but it felt great. :-)
Make it a Fantastic Friday! Enjoy your long holiday weekend!
Congrats Lori! That is great progress! I need to do what you are doing!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS!!! I find Lilly running MUCH smaller this year - which would explain why you wear the same size. I have dresses in my closet in everything from size 4 -10....and they ALL fit different!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Fifteen pounds..what an accomplishment! Definitely agree with Riley. Lilly has seemed very small this season.
