Ten Years Later, We Remember

Today marks the ten year anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The attacks changed our lives forever. It doesn't matter where you were or what you were doing the moment you heard the news - you remember. Chances are great that someone you know and love was affected.

This has always been a tough, very sad day for me.  It highlights our vulnerability. Before 9/11/01, we thought we were invincible. These kinds of things happened in other places, and mostly in countries that are far, far away. Never did I think I would live to see something of this magnitude occur on our soil, here in the United States of America.

Today, please join me in honoring those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Say a little prayer for their families and friends. Honor the first responders - many of whom paid the ultimate price. Hug a policeman, fireman or member of our military and tell them "thank you". Remember the many members of the US Armed Services, who have fought subsequent wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan to ensure our continued freedom.

How are you commemorating this day? I plan to honor the memory of those lost by doing something I have never done before. "Let's Roll" will be my call to action today. Don't worry - I will tell you all about it on Monday...

Let's remember the victims of September 11, 2001 - and look forward to the Freedom Tower rising.

  1. Its hard to look back and remember how I felt, so I can only imagine how those who were directly impacted felt. Today is definitely a day to remember, and a day to be proud of our country.
