JEREMY SHOCKEY, NEW ORLEANS SAINTS - DAY TWO OF SHOPAHOLIC GIVEAWAY DAYS TO CELEBRATE MOTHER'S DAY
How many of you are football fans? You all know from previous posts that Shopaholic is a huge football fan, of both the college and professional game. In my neck of the woods, the closest team geographically is the New Orleans Saints. Most people in this part of the country are Saints Fans. The Saints had an awesome season in 2009, and earned their first Super Bowl win in franchise history.
As an honorary New Orleans resident for many years (though unofficially!), I cannot begin to explain what finally earning a Super Bowl victory meant to the city of New Orleans. The city literally BLEEDS black and gold.
Through the miracle of Twitter, I met and started to follow Jeremy Shockey, who is the Saints starting (and star!) Tight End. For those who don't know their football, that means he plays on the offense, catches the ball and scores touchdowns. He also blocks and knocks dudes around on the defense when needed (or sometimes just for fun, haha). Jeremy is one fierce football player! He went to college at The "U" (non football fans, this means University of Miami - the one in FL). Jeremy also played professionally for the New York Giants and earned a Super Bowl ring with them several seasons ago.
Jeremy has kindly agreed to give away an AUTOGRAPHED PHOTO to one lucky Shopaholic blog reader!!! I am soooo excited to offer this giveaway, I know many of you are huge Saints (or perhaps Giants!) football fans and would love to add this to your collection. OK, so I'm a dude (I hope that doesn't automatically disqualify me from this contest), I live in Tennessee, not Alabama or even Louisiana (well, at least not anymore...), and I am far from what anyone would ever dub as a "shopaholic", but I would certainly love to win an autographed Jeremy Shockey photo to display alongside my autographed Drew Brees photo and my mini Saints helmet autographed by about 30 of the Saints players from last year's training camp in Metairie all the same.
ReplyDeleteI too am a follower of Jeremy Shockey on twitter and we are also friends on facebook, among many other Saints fans on both of those social networks, and I have seen some of your tweets back and forth with him on there before. Personally, I think that he only answers back to tweets from women and personal male friends (in real life) to him because every time I have ever sent him a tweet, it has always gone unanswered by him.
I saw your article here because I have a Google search for New Orleans Saints news articles that arrives in my email inbox every time something new is posted on the team and yours was included there this morning. I always love to read anything about the Saints that is written by true fans like you and me, especially from a woman's perspective! Keep posting articles in here about the Saints as they go for a repeat in 2011 and beyond and I will keep coming back to read whatever you write about them! Keep up the good work, don't shop too much (shopping 'til you drop would be a potentially bad thing you know) and always keep the FAITH about the Saints!

Ahhhhhhhh!!!! Aside from my love of a good tight end of the regular kind as well as the football kind, I am a HUGE Saints fan. Through our four years of military service, we've kept our season tickets and fly home for five to six home games. Were were in that number when we beat the Vikes!!!

ReplyDeleteI love Jeremy Shockey! I am a Giants fan and have a few pictures of him as a Giants. I even have a football card with a piece of game-worn jersey, and of course a Shockey jersey! Even though he doesn't play for the Giants anymore, I still love to watch him play. And I was totally rooting for the Saints in the Super Bowl!!
