Let's Hold Hands & Wish For An Early Spring...

Happy Tuesday! Hope you've had a wonderful start to the new week! Yesterday was a little crazy, as evidenced by some of the comments received here...I've never had as many anonymous comments as I received Monday. I made the decision to leave them all up and not delete any; as I truly believe most folks will draw their own conclusions anyway. Additionally, I was very excited to receive dozens of supportive emails - both from readers and a few high level executives.

Moving right along - I'm getting tired of the cold. I don't know how those of you who live in really cold climates like MA, MI, WI, etc make it through the winter. My town is packed with snowbirds that are down here to escape the bitter cold. I have a theory: the birds can fly down to the Alabama coast, rent a house or condo for $1500-2000 per month - and that is probably cheaper than their heating costs/utilities in many major metropolitan areas. What do you think?

Join me in wishing for an early spring, and enjoy the photos I have posted today. All of these were taken last spring, summer or fall on our beautiful coast - my home. You couldn't pay me to live anywhere else. I am thankful every day, and know I am blessed, to lead this life.

Prior to the BP Spill reaching our version of paradise...little did we know, our summer was about to be ruined.

Tanning essentials (see my tan toes peeking out?)
DH and I have a "tanning competition" every year. We can never agree on who wins...

Right across the street from our digs...

Looking west, across the street...neighbors fertilize the sea oats. They are great protection from hurricanes and crazy weather we experience. Need to preserve as much of the white sand as possible!

Sunrise on the Gulf of Mexico, heading out for a day of fishing and fun.

Sunset on the Gulf of Mexico, we have to come back eventually!
Same day, view from the other side of the boat. You can't see in this picture but the moon was already visible. What a sight! The moon to our right, and sunset to our left.

Another perfect day in our paradise...

Here's to the warm sunshine on our skin, the sand between our toes, a cold beverage in our hands, and a much improved mental state! As fellow Gulf Coast native and local boy Jimmy says - it's 5 o'clock somewhere! :-)

Have a Terrific Tuesday!

  6. I was so excited that the high today is mid-30s! I am so ready for warmer weather, and think I'll have to use the "renting a house may be cheaper than utilities" line sometime in the future. ;) Thanks for sharing such beautiful pictures.

  8. Thanks everyone for your kind words! To answer a few questions, we live across the street from the beach. I can actually see the beach out of several windows in our condo. We're between the beach and a lagoon, so we have the best of both worlds. :-) Temps down here average 55-58 in January (high) and very rarely dip below freezing at night. However, our forecast for this Friday/Saturday is in the mid 60's! Can't wait for the heatwave! XOXO, Lori
