Hello All! Do you have the Cyber Monday "hangover" today? Whew...I was scared to look at my online banking this morning, ha!

Seriously, I'm stuck at home and am extremely sick with a sinus and upper respiratory infection. I'd planned something else for today's blog but am just not feeling well enough to do it justice, so it will have to wait for another day.

Thought I would quickly share with you...Jack Rogers will be on Gilt Groupe today. The sale starts at 11am Central, and it looks like they will have at least one pair of Navajos.

And to keep it fun, Gilt Groupe is now on Ebates. Be sure to link through your Ebates account to earn 3% Cash Back on your purchase. If you're not on the Ebates wagon yet, you can join HERE. Cyber Monday, Shopaholic Style

We've already established the facts: I prefer to shop online. Cyber Monday is my kind of day - when online retailers offer some of the best prices and special deals of the year. Today, I'm putting together a collection of some of my favorites for you. Please note: I might add to this list periodically throughout the day and evening, based on incoming emails and other deals I run across.

First on the list: Tracy Negoshian's Cyber Monday Sale. For those who missed the Black Friday sale, this is your chance to take advantage of the exact same prices and Free Shipping! All Fall items will be 50% off, and prior season merchandise up to 80% off. Sale hours: Noon - Midnight EST. Code: CyberMonday11 - be sure to enter this code at checkout. I am planning to stock up (yes, again...ha!). Access the Tracy Negoshian website HERE.
J. Bee Designs is one of my favorite websites. J. Bee has been generous enough to offer all Shopaholic readers a 10% discount, today only! Be sure to use code "JBDCYBERM" at checkout. You can access their website HERE.
I'm a huge fan of Kiehl's, and use their hair products and lotions almost every day of my life. I think they make the absolute BEST hair straightening product known to man - the Heat-Protective Silk Straightening Cream. At only $17, this product has saved me so much time by shaving minutes off my straightening routine. With my naturally wavy hair, no way I could wear it straight without this stuff. Today on Kiehl's website, use code "BIGTREAT" to enjoy Free Shipping and a deluxe trio of your choice with any $30 purchase. Don't forget to link through your Ebates account to earn 8% cash back! Access the Kiehl's website HERE and sign up for Ebates HERE if you're not already a member.
Cape Madras makes some of the most gorgeous tunics, and preppy madras and patchwork skirts, shorts, etc. Today only their entire website is 50% off! I'm dying for a tunic like the one above and will more than likely cave! You can find the Cape Madras website HERE. FYI - the men's Half Zip Pullovers are on sale for just $46! A steal for the preppy man on your gift list!

Lifeguard Press, a provider of Lilly Pulitzer, Jonathan Adler, Susan Branch and Dylan's Candy Bar stationery and gifts, is offering 20% off site wide with the code "Cyber20". Note that all purchases over $100 will ship free. You can view the available offerings on Lifeguard's website HERE. These items make wonderful stocking stuffers - and everyone "needs" a new Lilly Pulitzer Agenda to plan their New Year!

Naturally, Sephora is another one of my favorite online stores. Today they are offering a "Mystery Gift" free with any $25 order. Sephora says the gift will include "5 of our most-wanted beauty samples, in a combination of deluxe and travel sizes". Use code "MYSTERY" at checkout for your free samples, and don't forget to link through Ebates to earn 10% Cash back (increased cash back % today only). Online Shopping Reminder

Happy Sunday! Today I'm busy getting the DH ready to go out of town again tomorrow. It's been a wonderful holiday week and weekend, especially with him at home. Hope yours has been fantastic as well.

Every year, it seems I do a little more of my holiday shopping online. It's just so convenient and easy - avoiding the crowds, the traffic and the parking hassles. In addition, I know for certain I don't overspend as much when I shop online vs. in the store. Those "impulse purchases" really get me in the stores! How about you?

While you're shopping online, don't forget to check the Ebates site to see if your store is offering cash back. I'm always amazed at the wide selection of online merchants and the cash back %'s that are offered. Just today, I noticed that Sephora was at 8% cash back. Wow! Many of the online retailers are offering increased %'s for the Black Friday - Cyber Monday time period. Some of my favorite deals on Ebates include:

And so many others! If you're not already a member of Ebates, you can join HERE and you will receive a $10 bonus after making your first purchase through Ebates. Speaking from experience, I can't believe I waited so long to join Ebates myself. Several of my savvy friends would gently remind me, yet I was slow to hop on the bandwagon. Now I feel so silly for not using Ebates a long time ago!

Happy Holiday Shopping! Be sure to check back tomorrow, I'll be blogging about Cyber Monday and my favorite deals for you!

Have a Super Sunday, I'm off to deal with five loads of laundry! Fun, fun! :-)

Small Business Saturday

Happy weekend! With the holiday shopping season upon us, there is one way we can all make a difference this year. Pledge to "Shop Small" today, and celebrate Small Business Saturday.

November 26 is the second anniversary of this event, which was specifically created by American Express to celebrate small business in our local communities and invigorate local economies. Personally, I believe any opportunity to support small, locally owned business is a great thing - and that is even better (in my opinion, of course) when the business is female owned.

Today, I encourage you to support small businesses. Get out and shop with the small boutique in your town. Purchase an item from a local craftsman or artist. Pick up that gift card from your favorite local restaurant, and treat someone on your holiday gift list to a fantastic dinner.

I'll be shopping with two of my favorite boutiques. While one of them is not local - they are both female owned and are small businesses. My friends at The Beach House Boutique here in Gulf Shores offer a wonderful selection of gift items, as well as ladies clothing and accessories. They carry Lilly Pulitzer, Yellowbox, Carmen Marc Valvo, Tribal and many others. And even better, they are happy to ship so even if you're not at the beach - you can "Live The Beach Life"! I happen to know they have several pieces of Lilly's Fall collection already discounted. On top of that, Robin and her staff will be offering an additional 20% off store wide for Small Business Saturday. It might be the opportunity to find just what you're looking for, so be sure to check them out!

My other favorite boutique is Village Palm, a Lilly Pulitzer Via store in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. Most of you will recall that I've blogged about Sarah and her staff many times. In addition to Lilly Pulitzer, Village Palm also carries Vineyard Vines, Vera Bradley, Fornash Jewelry, Smathers & Branson and many others. Right now, all Lilly Pulitzer Fall 2011 merchandise is on clearance. To celebrate Small Business Saturday, Village Palm is offering an additional 20% off clearance prices. There are also gifts with purchase available at several purchase levels (Lilly Pulitzer purchases), a super cute (and oh so handy!) measuring tape GWP with Vera Bradley purchases, and many other in-store specials and discounts. If you're looking for a particular item or just want to hear what Village Palm has going on, you can call, email or Facebook the store. They are happy to help!

Contact information for both stores, see below:

And if you plan to shop with your American Express card for Small Business Saturday, don't forget to register it online first HERE. When you register your card, then shop and spend $25 or more on your card at a small business on November 25, 2011 - you will earn a one time $25 statement credit on your card account. This is a fantastic incentive for all Amex card holders. (I'm not one of those - I swore off the credit cards years ago - this Shopaholic doesn't have much restraint). HA!

Enjoy Small Business Saturday and Happy Shopping! If you make it to one of my favorite stores, be sure to tell them you're a friend of mine! Please let me know what you find...

P.S. Today is "Iron Bowl Saturday" in the state of Alabama. In state rivals Alabama and Auburn will play at 2:30 central time, and a potential trip to the BCS championship is on the line for Alabama. My nerves are going to be shot - but I'll be pulling hard for the Crimson Tide! Roll Tide Roll!

Black Friday: Tracy Negoshian Online Sale

Can I be honest? I'm not really a big "Black Friday" shopper. While I love nothing more than a great sale and a wonderful deal, I do not enjoy shopping in huge crowds and watching folks fight over flat screen televisions. I much prefer to do most of my shopping online or via phone order.

This year, I kicked off the holiday buying season with a bang! After making a midnight run to Ulta (don't judge - it really wasn't that bad and I scored a CHI hair dryer for $75), I hightailed it home to shop Tracy Negoshian's Black Friday online sale.

Valid only until 6AM (not sure which time zone, but I presume eastern) - Tracy Negoshian is offering 50% off new arrivals and up to 75% off past season merchandise, as well as Free shipping with the purchase of a new arrival. All you need to do is enter code "BlackFriday2011" at checkout.

What did I purchase? Glad you asked! I bought the Stephany dress pictured above - thought it would be perfect for Alabama's bowl game (not sure which one or where just yet). With the 50% discount, it was only $58.50. You just can't beat that, huh?

I might have picked up a few of those "past season bargains" as well...seriously, this Kaitlin Tunic in the Pink Seahorse print for just $18.50! It was calling my name...
And maybe there will be a Jordann Terry Cloth Tunic Dress in the box...again, $18.50. This one is a gift, but shh don't tell!
Last but not least, I have wanted the Sheada Tunic Dress in the Life Preserver Navy print forever. Sale priced at only $34.50, this purchase was a no-brainer for me.

If you're seeing this post before 6AM, be sure to head over to the Tracy Negoshian website HERE to see what you might "need". What a fantastic sale, and a great time to pick up a few holiday gifts. Don't forget to use the code "BlackFriday2011" to receive your discount and free shipping.

And hey - maybe Tracy will be so pleased with the results of the sale, she will decide to extend it later in the day. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

Happy Shopping! Did you brave the Black Friday crowds?

UPDATE: We have managed to talk Tracy into running the same sale on Cyber Monday - so if you missed it this morning, don't despair! Yeah! I will have all the information for you (code, etc) prior to the start of the Cyber Monday event. It will begin at 12 noon and run through midnight EST. Get ready! :-)

Funny Thanksgiving Quotes

As we travel, cook, decorate and prepare for the Thanksgiving festivities tomorrow - remember to inject a little humor in every situation. Holidays can be very stressful - financial pressures, dealing with your least favorite family member(s), traveling to different celebrations, etc...It can all take a toll.

Just for a good laugh this evening, I've pulled some hilarious quotes for you. Enjoy and remember, have fun and enjoy this time of year!

I love Thanksgiving turkey... it's the only time in Los Angeles that you see natural breasts.
Arnold Schwarzenegger

Coexistence... what the farmer does with the turkey - until Thanksgiving.
Mike Connolly

I have strong doubts that the first Thanksgiving even remotely resembled the 'history' I was told in second grade. But considering that (when it comes to holidays) mainstream America's traditions tend to be over-eating, shopping, or getting drunk, I suppose it's a miracle that the concept of giving thanks even surfaces at all.
Ellen Orleans

An optimist is a person who starts a new diet on Thanksgiving Day.
Irv Kupcinet

Thanksgiving, man! Not a good day to be my pants.
Kevin James

We're having something a little different this year for Thanksgiving. Instead of a turkey, we're having a swan. You get more stuffing.
George Carlin

Vegetables are a must on a diet. I suggest carrot cake, zucchini bread and pumpkin pie.
Jim Davis

Thanksgiving is an emotional holiday. People travel thousands of miles to be with people they only see once a year. And then discover once a year is way too often.
Johnny Carson

Thanksgiving is America's national chow-down feast, the one occasion each year when gluttony becomes a patriotic duty.
Michael Dresser

Are you ready for Thanksgiving yet?

New Bakeware: It's Pink and It Was Free!

Just in time for the holiday baking season, I received this new set of bake ware and cooking supplies. Everything in the set is pink (or has pink accents). Maybe best of all - the entire set was free! You just can't beat that, right?

Many of you will remember from prior posts that I love to coupon - and while I'm not an "Extreme Couponer" - I do manage to consistently save 50-70% on my groceries, toothpaste, paper goods, etc. Unlike the folks on shows like TLC's "Extreme Couponing" - I don't purchase dozens of anything. If something is on a fantastic sale and I have coupons that make it free (or close), I will get maybe four items. In addition, I always donate items to charity or a local family in need.

One of the things I enjoy about couponing is sending off for mail in rebates, and free gifts. To celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness in October, Procter & Gamble offered the free bake ware set pictured above with a $25 purchase of P&G products. You best believe, I picked up my P&G goodies and mailed off for my goodies!

I had actually forgotten about mailing in for the offer, and then an unidentified box arrived on Monday! Included in the set: measuring cups, mixing bowls, silicone baking sheet, a cookie sheet, oven glove and spatula. What a nice surprise, huh?

Pink - very appropriate, don't you think? :-)  Now the question is - what should I bake?

For Your Thanksgiving Feast: Sweet Potato Souffle

Are you busy planning your family's Thanksgiving meal? With just a few short days until the annual celebration, I am making grocery lists and running back and forth to Publix. (You could say they know me there...)

If your family is like mine, we all have dishes that we prepare to bring to the celebration. Once you make a great dish that everyone loves, then you are expected to bring that same dish every year. Today I'm going to share a recipe that I prepare every year for my family's Thanksgiving meal. Mine for Thanksgiving is Sweet Potato Souffle. Please let me apologize in advance that I don't have a photo of this dish to share with you guys - but I didn't want to make this until the day before Thanksgiving. :-)

Sweet Potato Souffle

Ingredients:

(3) Large sweet potatoes, roasted and whipped
(1) Cup Sugar (I only use 1/2 cup but recipes calls for a full cup. Personally I think a full cup would be way too sweet!)
(2) Eggs, Beaten
1/2 tsp. Salt
(1) Stick of Butter
1/2 Cup Evaporated Milk
(2) tsp. Vanilla
(1) Jar of Marshmallow Cream
1/2 Cup Chopped Pecans

Directions:

Roast potatoes at 375 degrees for 60-90 minutes. Peel off skins and mash. Add sugar, eggs, salt, butter, milk and vanilla and whip together with hand mixer. Put in a greased 1.5 quart casserole dish. Bake in a 325 degree oven for 25 minutes. Then remove from oven, place marshmallow cream and pecan on top. Return to oven for 5 minutes or until brown on top.

Your family and friends will absolutely love this dish! It's a little like a "side dish" but in my opinion, it really qualifies as a dessert. The souffle is sweet and a great compliment to any meat you might serve - turkey, ham, roast, etc.

What is the one dish you're always expected to bring to the holiday celebration? From now until Christmas, I'll be sharing a recipe with you every week. Maybe we can all find something new to try! I'd love to hear about your family favorites!

Have a Marvelous Monday!

What's Your Tervis Personality?

Give me a Tervis Tumbler, and I'm one happy girl. When I find a Tervis that perfectly matches my personality, I'm even happier.

I have quite the collection of Tervis Tumblers and use one every.single.day of my life. From that one cup of coffee first thing in the morning to my Diet Coke, water and Crystal Light throughout the day - they're all in a Tervis. Since I've recently discovered the matching lids available for purchase, now I'm confident using the Tervis when traveling in the car. With a lid and a straw, I'm not worried about hitting a bump and spilling (or wearing!) my drink.

Some of the favorite Tervis Tumblers in our collection include the following:

Lilly Pulitzer Tervis, Blue Seahorses. These were produced three or four years ago and are no longer available. They are treasured pieces of my collection - so treasured in fact, they are housed on the wet bar and not in the kitchen!

Save The Gulf Tervis. My parents gave me this cup during the summer of the BP oil spill. I don't ever use it without thinking about the spill and what it meant - and continues to mean - to this area.
Alabama Tervis, no explanation necessary. Affectionally known around here as "Gameday" cups, there is no telling what beverage you might find in one of these Tervis. The day might start with a mimosa or bloody mary, and end with a nice cold beer. When the weather is warm, a pina colada or miami vice is always a suspect!
Shopaholic Tervis, this one comes with a great story. Last week, my friend Margaret over at 2Preppygirls emailed to ask me for my address and said she had a little something to send me that I "needed". A few days later, this Tervis arrived. How sweet of Margaret! I was honored that she thought about me, and I absolutely love my new cup! And isn't it "me"?!!?
Flips Flops and Crab Tervis, with matching lids. These are most commonly used in my car (again no desire to wear my drink!). I love the 24 oz. size and they are big enough to last for that hour plus drive to my parent's house!
Santa Tervis. Surprisingly, I only have one "holiday-themed" Tervis, it was in my stocking a few years ago. How cool is Santa in his hammock between the palm trees?
Lilly Pulitzer Tervis, more blue seahorses. These are the same as the ones in the first photo, but a larger size.
More Lilly Pulitzer Tervis, in a pink hanging monkey design. I had two of these, but I can only find one of them. I suspect that one of my friends has made off with one of my Lilly tervis. If they confess their sin, and return it promptly, no one has to get hurt. I won't even call the police! HA! Like I said before, Lilly Pulitzer hasn't produced these cups in several years and all indications are they probably won't again. I will be devastated if one of the pink monkeys is "permanently lost". :-(
I bet it was pretty easy to guess my Tervis Personality, right? All the basics are covered: Shopping, Lilly Pulitzer, Alabama, and anything Beach/Sea Animal related.

If you're wondering where to find your special Tervis Tumbler, please consider my friends at 2Preppygirls. They have a wonderful selection online. You can use my sidebar (left hand side of the blog at the top) or access their website HERE. While shopping the site, you can view all the lovely monogrammed and preppy gifts available.

Additionally, Tervis is carried in most Bed Bath & Beyond store locations. That's another great resource, especially if you're out and about doing your holiday shopping!

Now you know my Tervis Personality - what is yours?
